A 3-5-2 is a formation for players that are not able to withstand the 4-3-3 formation (Which includes 4-3-2-1,4-3-1-2..etc), in terms of defending, attacking and keeping possession. If saw the match yesterday the passes in midfield was low and more in the defence.
When we have players like kovacic and hernanes that understand their duties as a midfielder then we can play the 4 man defence, our team does not have the capabilities to withstand that now. That is why u see obi and Jonathan as right and left cm respectively, since they don’t need much brains to it just a runner in midfield. But when our full team is back within good fitness level and with the obvious purchases of medel and strikers that we need, only then we can play 4 defence line as our midfielders would have a better iq then the ones were currently playing with.
good point, in this match i see there was hole in midfield area that we can’t cope against stacking MU players who does not move before the half way line.. it’s really hurt me everytime we do that long pass play even tho there’s below 50% chance that Icardi or Botta can hold it well, it just that with 4 man defence we can play the more dynamic play in midfield, hope i can see this full squad very soon, when are they come back?

Not too sure about kovacic because he was with the team on tour, But he got slightly injured in training. So, Mazzari won’t risk him ( maybe he will play him against Roma not too sure tho)
That hole in midfield? Cambiasso… He would have been compatible with mvilla … on the argentine national team they used to play mascherano dm and cuchu cm…. plus last couple seasons cuchu showed he can dictate play and score goals. We will regret this
