On Inter Channel there was a long and interesting interview with Anderson Hernanes: Il Profeta was interviewed by Roberto Scarpini, dealing with various topics.

He started with the near future, the dual commitment, including the playoffs for the Europa League before the league, that awaits the Nerazzurri this week: “We did well the first match and now there is expectation for the championship: we have a bit of anxiety. During the week there is a meeting with the Icelanders and then we’ll focus on Torino,” began the Brazilian midfielder.

Then, in the chat, the focus moved directly to Inter’s number 88. The following are the topics and answers: On the lessons learned by Il Profeta in these months with Inter: “These months have been used to learn about the club and get to know the people who make it all work, the fans and the city. I immediately felt at home and now I feel like I’m at home. I realized the aspirations of the fans, the history of the club and the environment.”

About being a leader and the responsibilities that this entails: “The thing that has always driven me is my inner life, my goals. At São Paulo I came from the youth team, and I was the last to arrive, but I already knew what I wanted. Here, on the other hand, I arrived with more credentials, but that doesn’t change me: what matters is what I feel inside, my goals. Then without confidence of the coach and teammates it all becomes difficult anyway, but when you know that others have expectations for you, then you are driven to do your job with even more passion.”

About being an atypical Brazilian: “Maybe I’m a Brazilian-European. I’ve always had the mentality to do the right thing: I’ve always wanted to do things right, even in football. Therefore I pay attention to the strategies of opposing teams, as always: I want to be ready always. It’s my way of life, my way of thinking.”

On the new atmosphere in the beginning of this season: “I feel it because I myself have a great desire to do well and I want to give the best and prepare, like the whole team, to win something important. Inter as a club deserves that, there is a positive environment.”

On the Serie A 2014-15: “Surely some of the big names that we had a few years ago aren’t there, but the beauty of Italian football is that nothing is obvious, even if you play at home against the team that’s last in the standings. It’s a hard-fought tournament, this is what I like about the Italian league.”

On Mazzarri and on tasks required by the midfielders: “My strong point is the outside shot, now I have to add more passes and this may be important with the high wingers we have. I’m practising during training and then automatically it will also be done in the games, like an instinct. I like to be in the thick of the game.”

On the different roles that the number 88 has played throughout his career: “I played a little as a central midfielder and couldn’t do so many opening passes, but people who don’t have much sensibility, said that ‘Hernanes is missing something.’ This is what I don’t like and which I always think of: I’m always available, but I think that the position in which I do best is the one where I played against Stjarnan. 5 times I came to the conclusion: it is here that I can do the most. I’m hoping for a great season and I’m hopeful that we can do good things. And Forza Inter.”
