The former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni, currently with Udinese, spoke to Radio Rai and during the interview he also commented on some Inter related questions, among the them the difficult time the club is going through.
How are you experiencing this crisis of Inter?
“Inter is one of the most popular teams in Italy, the numbers say that. I can not deny that a piece of my heart remained in Milan. I’m sorry that the team is in such a moment, it is a place where everything is amplified, for better or for worse. In Milan you have to win, there are ambitious supporters there and righty so. It is not for me to judge the work of others, from the outside, but I hope for Ausilio – to whom I am bound – that they can turn things around and start getting points. And for a many of the guys who are there: I hope you can resolve this immediately.”
Is returning to Inter a real ambition?
“Yes, it is normal… We must speak with respect, there is a different owner that has made his choices and he is also innovative. There is an ambition to one day return an important team, understanding that Udinese is an important team. I will tell you an anecdote: When Ausilio renewed until 2017, I jokingly said, ‘Piero, come on, bring me back to Inter’. But it is a joke. I hope to continue with Udinese who has invested in me.”
Is it true that you would have stayed with Inter if Moratti had still been president?
“I can’t lie. You know that I was chosen by Moratti. I was a coach that was developed by the club, let’s say so. They had taken the time to evaluate me with young players and there was a three-year project for me. But the decisive moment was when the president, 2-3 days after the end of the season, told me he had to sell the majority stake because he was not successful selling a part of society. Naturally and rightly so those who came after have changed many things, including the coach.”

Stramala…
Are there any Inter fans with memory spans that exceed that of a goldfish?
I’m not a fan of Mazzari, but under Strama, we were a team without identity. We had no noticeable avenue to goal and the midfield was completely out of sync with the attack and the defense. We were an average team, coached poorly, and it was reflected in our placing that season. Fortunately we had arguably the leagues best keeper between the posts, otherwise we’d surely have finished in the bottom half.
I followed the primavera under Strama and saw the nextgen final in London. the resemblance to villas-boas when he was on fire was striking. Dynamism, charisma, fluid attacks with width, a trequartista who can rotate into the number 8 position and an oscillating 3-4 back line… <– This is what he can bring to a team. I hope he does really well with udinese, has an amazing career and that he will 1 day return to inter 🙂
and most of the people that says “please come back Strama” are the ones that says “Fire Strama” last season when we are struggling.
Guess some people are never satisfied with what they have.
no no no, I defend him last season..
He is far better than mazzari..WHAT A GAME !!!

The only former Inter manager who got balls to come to Juve stadium with very offensive attacking formation with three forwards, and bagged three goals to put the first dent in their home ground.
We like you too dude
His desire to return is obvious. If Mazzarri fails this season, and he will, then it’s time to get Strama back. I just hope that he can convince Thohir by putting in a good season in Udinese.
Never should have sacked him. Even if we struggled another year we would have been improving with one of the smartest upcoming coaches in Europe. And I doubt we would be doing any worse than we are with Mazzarri. At least we’d be more entertaining to watch
He lost the dressing room. There was really no other option. That same dressing room was still here last year, so it wouldn’t have worked. If we were to have given him his chance now for example with a young squad than maybe it could have worked. But not it’s best that he gets experience before he comes back, and I mean like 4-5 years experience.
how come He stayed while Moratti still in charge?
Moratti sack him even before the takeover finish.
