Nemanja Vidic joined Walter Mazzarri for this afternoon’s press conference at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti ahead of Inter’s UEFA Europa League meeting with Saint-Étienne.
The veteran Serb began by replying to a question about playing in a three-man defence. He explained: “I was asked the same thing when I first came here. I’ve been working hard in training since the day I arrived. It’s not up to me to judge how I’m doing. From my point of view, I have to keep trying to do better and I’ll go on working hard. People are free to comment but I always say that football is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. There’s a long way to go and people can judge at the end.”
The centre-back then discussed the Napoli game: “Yes, in the end we were happy with the draw because we twice fell behind. I think we played very well in the first half and there are lots of positives to take from it. We can do better, but there are lots of positives. Spirits are high.”
When will we see the best Vidic? “I feel good here, I’ve settled in well and I’m training well. When Inter’s performances improve I think my own performances will improve too. I hope to be a part of it all.”

Vidic, if you cost inter points this weekend in serie a against Cesena you will be my new favorite player. You will join the likes of Zarate, Forlan, Perreyra and Silvestre in my books. Ausilio, even Branca couldn’t have picked a better CB for Inter !!
He means that football is a team work… I don’t understand why you guys are upset with his words…
The only Inter defender since 2010 that has the quality of Vidic, is Samuel. He is a CL winner, and how many EPL wins? Though I like Rolando, him and Ranno cannot be compared to Vidic. Why isnt JJ criticised for his terrible positioning….because with Inter fans him and Kovacic are beyond criticism, because they are Inter’s future? yeah right? Who got the goals against Napoli? guys Inter would have sold if they could have in the summer.
I have to agree with your comments concerning JJ. He is not that smart and many people think he is world class. Ranocchia use to be the one to blame and now it’s Vidic. Rano has improved this season and Vidic can play better.
I thought you can bring your experiences, but it seems not…
Dubious words, IMO. There can be 2 perception here:
“When my team playing good, I’ll play good too”
or
“When my team playing good, part of it, because my best performance”
Man…he has no brain whatsoever. You talk like that about your own team?? Pack your ass back to England, brainless fucker.
I wouldn’t expect Vidič to say stuff like that. Anyway, It’s more like the team’s performance will improve when he will improve, since he cost us about 6-7 goals by his mistakes only.
If we get Rolando and put you on the bench then we will do better
what a piece of shit can’t take responsibility for his own mistakes !!!
What a douchey thing to say. You’re bringing the whole team down with your idiotic mistakes, man the hell up and train harder/play better. Or eat bench. Whichever suits you…
lol dumb comment
“When Inter’s performances improve I think my own performances will improve too” WTF is that supposed to mean? I sounds like I suck because the team sucks and I am not going to get any better until the team improve. Logic dictates that it should be the other way around. I don’t care about the stupid mistakes, but that comment is like an own goal in the last minute of the game.
Agree. It really sounds too dumb to be true
