In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Massimo Moratti revealed Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s final words to his Inter team-mates as he was getting on a plane to sign for Barcelona in the summer of 2009.
”It sure has been nice playing with you but you will not win anything without me”, said the Swede.
Contrary to his words, Inter went on to win the treble that season. However, Moratti insisted that he is very fond of the PSG striker, ”He is an incredibly talented player and he makes you win titles. With us he won three straight Scudetti. Yesterday I was watching a replay of our game against Parma in May 2008 – Ibrahimovic was flawless.”

I always liked Zlatan, but he really pissed me off in his last few months at Inter, because he had already mentally checked out. I really liked in one of the last games of the 2008-09 season, Ibra was loafting and was pretending like he was injured, he kept looking over at Mourinho asking him to be subbed out. Mourinho just looked at him, said “yeah, sure, ok” and never subbed him out, I loved it.
Classic Zlatan! Gotta love his humility. He didnt reckon on Mourinho’s influence being even more than Zlatans!
