Taking a look at the current Serie A standings, we need to learn from our previous mistakes: Namely rushing the process of sacking managers. Three of our previous coaches and their respective clubs are above us in the standings. It’s debatable if any of the three possess a better squad than Inter’s. Gasperini is doing an awesome job with Genoa (the only club he seems to succeed at) sitting in 3rd place whilst playing good football, Rafa Benitez has Napoli in 5th and Andrea Stramaccioni has guided Udinese to 8th spot. I’m sure if Ranieri was in the league he’d have been above us also! We rushed into sacking those coaches without giving them them the time or resources required. Now they are proving themselves to be good coaches elsewhere. We also lost out financially by letting these managers leave. The way in which they were fired has possibly given them extra motivation to do well against inter in each fixture we meet them. Mancini should continue with the full support of the fans and the management. Reinforcements in January are a must or we will stay in the same neverending cycle.
Opinion: Waiting is a must

Our stage is in introduction phase now so we need to be patient with everything and we also need quality players at least four… But i am just wondering how we can afford all of these matters coz Intermilan financial situation is still deficit and we desparate need some cash by selling either Icardi or Kovacic..
I agree with you totally
Smartass, neverheard of ‘typos’?
Stick to the article subject i would love to see you writing something, would be interesting
give what the coach want, ….inter management only buy player based on their personal interest…..
To all of u, Mancini was the man and still is the man. Gasper/stram/ran/WM are not proven champions where as yr truly he is that Mancini by the way. It’s alway hard to manage a team which isn’t is and also to take control this early but this is y Mancini was bought in because he’s the man with the upper hand and he’s got the plan to damm is opponents. This his Mancini part two with attitude.
“upove” “Benitiz” “without giving them their enough time”
who wrote this article? a 5th grader?
Well said indeed
I believe that we can only revived from this condition with a high profile coach and Mancini is one of them. As you can see Mancini’s inter in the first half is very good. And Mancini has witnessed how bad the team’s mentality on the pitch and problems. I am sure he would come up with solutions.
Agree with u
Gasperini and Benitez had a team of champions but Strama was perhaps rushed out too quickly. Anyway, we have a good coach and it’s time to do our part as fans and hope that players do theirs.
I’m hoping Mancini will go up Thohir and say.. ( Mr president you must help get rid of Guarin , Nagamoto , Kuz , Palacio , Dodo and Ranocchia ) this is a must!. If you don’t do this for me I’m gone I am Gone!
I’m sorry, don’t forget Jonny
Agree with you completely. Those guys you mentioned above should be backup players at best for a team aiming to return to CL. We need to get rid of everyone signed by Marco Branca except for Handa and Kovacic.
do we really learn from our mistakes? or do we had to take the sack and appoint coach path all over again? only time will tell. but if the owner again act more as a stupid fans instead of become a real true owner then i’m pretty sure we’ll be nowhere near improvement
Please enlighten us with your soccer wisdom. Tell us what the owner should do and what inter needs to be successful again
Selling every F****** player and build it around Kovacic!. Everyone can now se that Strama and Mazzarri was not the problem. If you meen that Mancini is not the right man for inter and that this is all Mancini’s problem. You’re brain dead I’m sorry but you’re brain dead if you think Mancini is the problem
Chill out dude. First, I like Mancini and I think he is the man to save inter but he needs time. I agree that getting rid of WM was the best decision. In my mind he would go to history as the coach that denied Zannetti his last Derbi and his last home game. He was a stubborn guy without any football knowledge. I don’t recall the players celebrating with him ever during or after the games. Strama was too naive, he was not ready to become inter coach period. Benitez was hated by most of the players. Management had to make a decision to either get rid of the coach or get it of the players that had just won the trebble. Gasperini could never connect with the team. Did you watch any of the games of inter that year. The whole team looked confused. It is not that they did not play good football, it is that they had no clue of what to do in the field. Ranieri was never never going to be our coach for the long term. He was there just to try to stabilize the club. Leonardo? I think he was really good, people liked him, the team liked him, management liked him. He played attacking football which costed us some points against strong teams but we did well again smaller teams. In my opinion it was a matter of time for him to bring the team back to the top. But he had too much baggage being a AC milan guy for so long so he decided to leave. So in general, I kind of agree with the coach changes we have had. Now sell the whole team and rebuild it around Kovacic? Wake up, Kovacic is not that great. You cannot build a team like inter around a young kid like him. He is not Neimar, Messi, Ronaldo… You build your team around proven players not promising talents without experience. Please give me a couple of examples where a big team was rebuilt around a 20 yr young player.
wow so now suddenly the coach needs time just because you like him. that’s a superb argument there. well that stubborn guy without football knowledge took a middle table team to become a first class team in this league. while some of the people you stated is having a great time laughing on us from above
Hey bro, Walter Mazzarri had 1.5 years and he showed no progress whatsoever and no intention to try something new. He was just trying to make Inter a Napoli 2.0. Playing the same formation again, and again trying to make Kovacic a Hamsik, Guarin a Lavezzi or something. He was horrible talking to the press. There was not connection with the players. Please tell me a game where the team went to hug him and celebrate with him after a goal. I can’t recall even a single one. Now, go see AC Milan games. They might be playing shit but the players love the Pipo after a goal they go and hug him and cheer with him. WM incompetence was evident in many games. I never liked him for Inter because I always hated the way he got frustrated in the games in his time at Napoli. A good coach needs to transmit positive energies and motivate the players not to get freaking crazy and start bitting and trowing bottles.
napoli 2.0? a better version of the team who got coppa and take runner up spot? i’ll take that team anytime.
funny how you complaining about same formation since mancini uses same formation for his first 4 games without any good successfull outcome yet he still uses it without any changes at all. and remember the season before mazzarri? wasn’t back then interista complaining about how we don’t have one fix formation?
hahahaha. that is funny. maybe one of the funniest reason in a book of 101 reasons to hate a coach. well the fact is none of the players hate their coach and none, not even one of them said bad things about that coach, not even after he left the team. infact some players stated their lost for that coach and some even took the blame for not did the job properly. that is the real prove of a connection between a coach and his players
well i can see in the last game and the previous one what kind of “positive energies” mancini transmit to the team. wait i think i still remember what kind of “positive energies” he transmitted to our team in a champions league back then. pretty sure that kind of “positive energies” will come back if the players doesn’t start to raise their form
My friend… what inter did fire Mazzarri was stupid just as stupid as fire Strama. Look where we are now ? What can Mancini do ?. If inter was smart keeping Mazzarri to the end of this season. And then get Mancini and get players he want for next season. It’s like Sia and Ben is saying the management has no f******* clue of what they are doing. Let’s say then will bring inn 3 new players. Even if we get the player’s Guarin will stil be there so will Kuz , dodo , Naga , jonny and F******* Ranocchia!!.
nothing will happen it’s the same F****** shit over again
I think that is the plan, to build the team for next season. But management saw the signals when the attendance to the stadiums was falling like a rock and people where booing the whole team. So, they made a risky move to try to get some momentum and hopefully get the fans support the team through the rest of the year. This after all is what make money for the team. People support which translates to sponsors, tv right, stadium tickets…
by asking that question just shows how you not learn from the mistakes. maybe it will take a much longer time for your kind of people to learn that
Gee very mature answer. I see… You have no idea who I am, or what I do for a living. But still is easy to imply “my kind of people” are too ignorant to think like you” I ask you a straight question and you give me sarcasms. Go deal bro. At the end of the day we are cheering for the same team.
you want some answers? okay then, i’ll give you some answers. 1. made a long term plan or project or anything you wanna call it and then stick with it. 2. get a coach who would really suit the project. 3. get players that the coach wanted or at least someone with a bit less quality but still in the quality range of what the coach asked instead of just taking anyone who they can grab of. 4. evaluate everything at the end of the seasons. 5. if the evaluation really does not fit what was required then let the coach go and return to step 2. get it?
as i always said the coach himself, no matter who he is, is not the real problem in the club. we can cut off 1000 coaches and it would still take us nowhere. except we had unlimited budget (and we can spend that unlimited budget) where we can do trial and error with every coach and players around every goddamn seasons then doing the same old childish stupid way is just a prove of idiocrity and mediocrity
You say some absolutely stupid things on here and you come across as quite condescending but I agree with most of what you say here, I dont know why you cannot reply with well thought out answers like this instead of the usual snide remarks you seem over eager to release. Inter need a long term plan and recruit based on that rather than what is out there. Milan are in the same cycle, picking up loans and free transfers. The players are out there, at the prices we are willing to pay, and in the age range that ensures that we can see them on again. We just need to find them!
which stupid things are you talking about, sam? about how mediocre our players are? about how terrible our mercato while other people around here praising ausilio for his “good work”? about it was the players who keep making mistakes over and over and over again but you people always deny it mostly because of your hatred towards the previous coach? about how i said it over and over again that the coach is not the biggest problem around? or maybe about changing the coach again and again and again will not and never going to solve this club problem? which one dude?
i stated the facts. things you people don’t like yet it is still the facts. what i stated before was all a thought out answers and thought out comments. but if what you mean is a normal kind of comments as what most people around here saying, then you’re talking to a wrong guy. and i don’t really think i need to talk good to people who instead of supporting this lovely club, they took it down even more by booing the team, said bad things about them, ruining the teams morale, and became part of what made this club degrading it’s level.
as i already said, the owner needs to be a real club owner and act as a real club owner instead of become a stupid fans and act like one
That is more like it, that is condescending sounding style that you have with many of your remarks which make you sound more troll than Interista. It is a shame because instead of putting forward some vaild points that you often have, people get distracted by you method of delivery. it is like wrapping up a beautiful gift in a rubbish bag. I agree with the booing and a number of your points although I think Mazzarri was the wrong man for the club and needed to go.. Unfortunately the club has not got in place a system to find coaches who suit the style of the club instead it tries to suit the style of the coach which generally ends up with a real mixed bag of players arriving over any period of time. It is nice that you are happy to put forward strong opinions on the club, it is just a shame that you do it in such a poor way.
a beautiful gift will always be a beautiful gift even if it wrapped in a rubbish bag. well at least if the rubbish bag doesn’t ruined the gift 😛 that’s why there is an old saying to not judge a book by it’s cover. sadly people around here seems to just do the opposite. and for me that’s their problems, not mine.
for the record, i never really like the appointment of mazzarri in the first place. hell i didn’t even wanted strama to be fired actually. but after he was fired i was hoping more for blanc. because the team needs new ideas, new spirit, someone who can give new colour to an already rainbowed squad. one thing that i did not like about mazzarri back then before he was appointed was about how he was one of the old generations of italian coach. so it was pretty funny how these people around accusing me like i’m kind of mazzarri’s fans or something. hell i even laugh so hard on some occasions. but then again it’s their own problems to be bothered by me and my comments. i’ll just still be me.
yup that’s what i have been talking about. the management sucks and the left over from the previous management are still as sucks. so before the club getting rid of the old ways, started to really kick start a project and stays in it, no matter who the coach is we’ll just always take the same round and round and round of this same cycle
Uh best comment of the day!
None of the managers you mentioned deserved to be in charge of Inter, so giving them any more time is meaningless.
Mazzarri should have sacked at the beginning of the season. The team problem is not coaching, nor players (I still firmly believe we have the third strongest squad in serie A). The problem is psychological, the team collapses once they fall behind, or they are night able to convert their chances. This problem is Mazzarri’s fault.
Guarin is not a bad player, nor as Rannocchio. They need consistent players and leaders next to them to thrive. A refreshed Vidic, and healthy Hernanes might help. Even someone like Gerrard.
One short term solution is to use Primavera players, to lower the expectations. No one would blame Bonazzolli for making a stupid backpass like Palacio did. Camara would not be booed if his shot goes out of the stadium.
M’Baye at worst is still better than Nagatomo in defending…
Come one Inter! This year is gone as well. Let’s play those youngsters and be the new Dortmund!
ow damn right. benitez failed back then, it was mazzari’s mistake. gasperini failed back then, it was mazzari’s mistake. stramaccioni failed back then, it was mazzari’s mistake. every problem and any problem this club has was mazzarri’s mistake. nice one there
new dortmund? you mean the last place dortmund?
AGAIN. NONE of those coaches deserved the job.Gasperini was bad because of how awful and small minded 3-5-2 coach he was. Stramacionni too inexperienced, and he IS still too inexperienced.
I’d rather be the last place Dortmund after dominating the whole Europe for three seasons.
and those people who does not deserve the job is right up there laughing at us right now.
wooo. i guess i’m missing the time when dortmund was “dominating the whole Europe for three seasons”. maybe i was on flight to mars or something when that kind of thing happens
It truly is a stressful time for inter…this is the first season in where inter don’t have a player that can save the day. Last year was palacio and the year before that was cassano and before that eto’o and 2010 was well, you know : )
true. one of the reasons the team took a fall this year because they had no real leader and no one to take the mantle to be the game changer. palacio was nowhere near his last season form while some other players wasn’t really ready to took his place. that is why it would need more time to gel everything this season
Took the words right outta my mouth
You’re a genius..
I agree with a lot of what you are saying but I think the problem has always been no definitive plan at a management level. The club has been run along the lines of hire a manager, let him rearrange the squad and tactics, if it doesnt work fire him and bring someone else in who repeats the process. There is no overarching strategy about how to get from A to B only, this aint working, lets sack the coach and see if that helps. Inter need a long term strategy built around what sort of club it is, what sort of football it wants to play and what type of player it wants representing it. Once you have that strategy in place you can then target managers and players who fit that image. Mourinho was successful because he saw the players at the club fit the style he wanted to play already and he was able to assert his will over the others at the club due to his record and force of personality, not many managers can do that. If the club have a long term strategy it will also help nurture and develop players in the academy to play in the style that the first team plays and help the transition.
