After winning the treble Inter suffered a huge deal due to financial shortenings and not being able to keep our top performing players with us, so we asked a question on twitter, and got a few answers which we would like to share them with you to have your say and tell us your opinion in that matter.
The Question was:
here goes a string of screenshots of the answers we got, the first was from Grande (@1nternazionale) who declined the idea stating that it’s a special memory for him.
Khiyyam (@blackblueandred) kept it simple with a high tone No.
Hussein (@HusseinMarhoon) said that he would chose the treble with a clear mind at anytime.
Babilona Khosravi (@BabilonaK) who is a writer on Sempreinter.com refused to trade it for anything
Joey Postorino (@JoeyKaramazov) who is also a writer on Sempreinter.com cleared the idea out saying that it was one of the best days in his life but wishing that we should have done better.
Mehryar Nerazzurro (@Mehryar10) who is the founder of Inter.ir refused the idea too.
Mark Turner (@burnerbean) who runs @InterStats and also a writer on Sempreinter.com said no wishing that we were smarter dealing with it.
then Comes Nima Tavallaey (@Nimatav1981) who is the Co-founder & Managing Director of Sempreinter.com and part of DiMarzio English crew saying that he is grateful to Moratti for the treble and doesn’t regret anything in that era.
Mike Whittaker (@Don_Nerazzurri) who is an Inter blogger and founder of Nerazzurriworld.com also said no stating that we are paying the price of the wrong use of it.
and at last Siavoush Fallahi (@SiavoushF) who is a journalist at SBS Discovery TV, Social media editor at Unibet, Co-founder of Sempreinter.com & @Solocalciose .
Tell us your opinion, would you trade an unforgettable moment that was the main reason for what we’re suffering now at least financially, for stability and staying close to the top spots?

as they say be careful what you wish but i wasn’t careful when i was joking with my friends in 2010 and said:after we win the triplete we don’t want to win other trophies for years we will give the opportunity to other smaller clubs to repeat it
The treble year was not the problem. It was the lost millions leading up to that year that became the drag on the organization. The millions spent on over the hill or unproductive players bought at premiums and sold at losses or departing on free transfers. The obligations to pay several coaches the balance of their contracts as we searched for stability and leadership. While I love Dr. Moratti as a patron he should and eventually did leave the business and technical decisions to better equipped people. I think if Fachetti had lived longer he was finally the guiding hand that we needed to balance the passion for the shirt with the business that was needed to achieve long term success. I would NEVER trade that glorious year or for that matter the 2006-2011 years.
Our financial problems are caused by Moratti and Branca when they gave Milito, Cambiasso, Chivu, Samuel, Eto, Sneijder, Maicon, Lucio and Motta huge salaries short AFTER treble! We could save at least 150 million on salaries and money that we could get by selling some of those players.
Stupid question, i’d take the treble any time and 5 years of crap over who knows how many years of being number 2..
worth in every bit of sweat, tears, blood spilled out there for it. “defend moratti no matter what. everything he did led to the treble” yet everything he did (or did not) after the treble was what led to today’s condition
All teams have experienced ups and downs in their history including Inter. however not all the teams could won the treble. 🙂
The treble was not the problem, to suffer like this now. The problem was how we treat our managment after treble. Because we decide to sell all our stars ( never mind if i agree with it or no ), we should do it in the right time for the right price. Sneijder= 35-40 mil., Motta=20-25 mil, Maicon= 30-35 mil, Cesar = 25-30 mil., plus Pandev, Balotelli and Lucio. It is about 140 mil – 160 mil.And what did we take for all of them…..? Plus some other mistakes and we are suffer now.
its not after the treble. Its before the treble where we spend coutless million on garbage without winning anything. Did United sell their half of the team after the treble ? Nope. Did Barca sell half of the team after the treble ? nope. Seriously after the treble we try to maintain the winning team. Which is very understandable.
Who know Wesley Sneijder, the champions league best player, world cup finalist and many said worthy of balon d’or will deteroriate that quickly ? Maicon who probably the best wing back in 2010. Lucio who’s rock solid in the treble become an error prone. Milito our topscorer in the treble get bidone d’oro ?
Seriously if after the treble we sold JC, sold Maicon, sold Wesley, Lucio, Motta, etc. The media will condemn us, even the curva would start a protest.
so i wrote “never mind if i agree with it or no”. But we lost a lot of money on transfers. Man.U wanted Sneijder on summer and we could sell him about 30 mil and we left him go on January for nothing. We should sell Milito aftet season 11/12 ( he was about 32 yo),He left us last May for free and we were paying his huge salary for nothing for 2 years. The same with Lucio and JC.I didn’t say that we should sell them the summer after treble, but we sell each player in wrong time.
Its undeniable true that we lost money especially on sneijder. But in the management point of view, hang on to the best player was a very logical decision. Its proved to be wrong decision but nobody could see its coming.
As for Diego, after the bidone de oro, he practically worth nothing. So does Lucio. Nobody would buy them with their huge salary and 30’ish age.
No it wasn’t. Better big club rather than what happened after Mourinho era. Mourinho betried us.
Nope. Never. The best day in my life as an interista. Though, we should’ve managed it well. Still believe our misery will be ended asap.
A very big no is the main answer, but looking at a 4 years of drought and who knows till when it’s going to continue this way… One migh rethink this no
according to the stability-plan by Thohir it’ll take us further 5 YEARS!!! to become healthy again! Winning the treble brought Inter up among the biggest clubs in the world so everyone of cause knows who we are BUT seeing us being the laughing stock of Italian Football today hurts almost just as much as the joy the triple brought us, almost!
But change it?? No way, even though it’ll mean playing with youngsters, nonames, and bosman-signings the next 4-5 years! 🙂
FORZA INTER!!
