After the announcement of the renewal, Mateo Kovacic met with reporters at Brooks Brothers store to answer questions. Our partner FcInterNews.it was present and here are the words of the young midfielder:
What do you hope to do for Inter in the next 5 years?
“I’m very happy for the renewal, I hope that Inter will get back on the road it was on until 2010, I would like to reach the third place and start winning Scudetti.”
New players have also arrived on offense.
“I’m happy, Lukas played a good game, he’s doing well with us. Shaqiri is very strong, he won the treble with Bayern and I hope he will do the same with us.”
Also thanks to Mancini. How is to play for him?
“Surely the coach is a very important factor, he is a coach who has done well at Inter, City and Galatasaray, everywhere he has been and I am very happy to work with him.”
On Sunday you will not be there because of the suspension.
“Yes, we are in for a tough game. The team is ready, hopefully we get the three points.”
How do you feel about being considered future captain of this team?
“We have a good captain now, Ranocchia, it is a big responsibility. I don’t speak of these things, it doesn’t matter who is the captain.”
With these new arrivals, can Inter aim at the third place?
“Surely, they are two very strong players, hopefully they will do well here and we reach the third place.”
What will you say to Shaqiri?
“That he is welcome, that I’m here if I can help. When it comes to what happens on the pitch I don’t have to explain anything, he is very strong and did well at Bayern and Switzerland. We are happy we got him.”
What role did Thohir have when it comes to your renewal?
“He is important, he made sure that the project started strong, with him and the club we have reached a good agreement.”
Was your expulsion in Turin right?
“If the referee pulled out the red card it was right, If he saw it that way then I agree. If he says it is red it is red, you can’t change anything.”

Osvaldo = junk? Clearly you haven’t been paying attention. Especially considering we spent practically nothing for him so far, not until Inter activates the option to buy him anyway. The same situation for M’Vila too, option to buy.
osvaldo has played for 10 teams in the last 10 years………clearly he’s junk !! Mancini is smart enough to realize this and management is listening so expect him to go to Cagliari by the end of the month. M’villa is another dick, he’s gone too cuz not even inter is stupid enough to pay 9 mill for him !
Builiding a good solid squad for the future will suffice. Now all Inter need is some investments at the back and perhaps a world class forward to replace Palacio or Osvaldo if he ended up leaving.
inter should have made defense a priority. i don’t care who inter gets to score goals the defense is one of the worst in serie a.
Told you that Vidic will be a different player playing in a back four as opposed to three at the back, he was never really adapted to playing in a back three. The Genoa match seemed to vindicate my sentiment as he was one of the best performer as well as scoring the goal which sealed Inter’s victory.
That being said, you can count that the defense will be Inter’s next priority to fix, either in this transfer window or in the summer. Names such as Schar has been touted.

Nastasic seems very close to joining Schalke if the latest transfer rumours from the media is to be trusted. A shame that Inter didn’t get him, but I’m actually curious about Vidic. Can he maintain his starting spot and play consistently good for a change? Haha

I really hope Vidic will be given the nod ahead or Rano after his good performance against Genoa. Ranocchia should learn to fight for his position and not just rely on the fact that he’s the skipper. Anyways, are JuBe still interested in acquiring Ranocchia nowadays as it was during Conte’s reign? Conte really wanted him, as far as I know anyway.
