In the mixed zone at Giuseppe Meazza Inter’s captain in today’s match spoke to journalists: “A beautiful feeling to have the captain’s armband and it is a beautiful thing. I enjoy this moment and I am already thinking of the trip to Empoli because today we got an important victory to tighten the gap and we must continue on this path. The team has played good football for some time now, maybe without bringing home the three points. This is a good sign.”
“A revolution with Mancini? Knowing the hearts of the fans, the Inter fans are taken too much by emotion. We have to stay calm because there is a lot of work left to do and a long way to go.”
“Hierarchies in defense? Those are decisions that are up to the coach, we always have to prove what we can do to make it diffcult for the coach. This healthy competition is needed because it allows everyone to improve.”
“Shaqiri? An important player and will give a hand to all of us. On the pitch we do what the coach asks us to do, we can do even better than what we are already doing.”

I don’t understand how inter pick their captain this year. We use to boast all the great names for captaincy, like the great mazzola and meazza, baresi, bergomi, the legendary Giacinto Fachetti, and the newly retired il Capitano javier zanetti. Now we pass this captaincy to rannochia, who is the most inconsistent player on the team, also andreolli who are not yet experience and for sure can’t control the team and gain the players respect. In order to play consistently the players have to look up to the captain that can play consistently. Handanovic should be the captain of this inter team, as he is one of the oldest player and also the most consistent out of the squad. Without handanovic we would have lost many more games.
mazzarri’s legacy was leaving us with rano as captain. mancini should seriously either demote him or just ignore the general unwritten rule that the captain is a starter. neither scenario would completely shock the world
Well technically andreolli is the most “senior” inter player. He was a inter youth product and played under Mancini during mancini’s first stint at inter. If I’m not mistaken Mancini gave him his debut back then. Otherwise I agree with you, the decision to make rano captain is absolutely shocking
I Shock also.. Why Andreolli??
