Mauro Icardi might get his newly born daughter to be raised up in Madrid, as Atletico Madrid are so keen on bringing him to their ranks, that was something that made inter accelerate in the talks with his agent about renewing his contract, something that proved to be of great difficulty.
According to Tuttosport, the gap between what Icardi demands and what Inter offers remains to be huge regarding the salary, he is currently earning €1 million, inter offering in the region of €2 million while he wants €3 million at least, in addition to the always existent problem of the image rights.

I do think he should be thankful for having the opportunity to play at inter, after just one good season at Samp. Look Dybala, the kid was dying to come to inter 3 years ago. Inter lost interest on him because the way his transfer was being handled. He signed with Palermo, played on Serie B a couple of years (first one wasn’t that good), now is doing really well in Serie A. And the kid is so grateful that he is going to renew with Palermo. Even though pretty much everybody knows that the team just want to renew his contract to cash on him at the end of the season. Anyway, going back to Mauro. I agree that he should be making something comparable (but less) to Kovacic and Shakiri. But, tomorrow, we wil have handanovic, Medel, JJ and everybody else asking for that kind of money. I hope we find a solution. We should keep this guy for another year. Maybe they can add a clause with some bonuses tied to his performance and CL classification

I am really cofused if we must sell him on summer or not. If, yes, so we must invest this money very carefully.If we can sell him 40 mil, so maybe we could buy as DUDD said Dympala for 25 – 30 million ( if Zamparini agree, maybe he will want more). And another 10-15 mil invest in defence ( Darmian or Schär ). If we will not get 3rd place i am afrair that this money will be spend for our loans ( Shaqiri, Podolski and another player that we are trying to sign on this mercato ) and there will be not other cash to make good transfers. Ok, we could loan new players on summer, but players like Darmian, Schar or Dympala will not leave there clubs on loan, because they will want to cash on them on summer. So i think that if we get Ch.L we could sell him, if not we must keep him another year. My opinion.

If he’s not the one that wants to leave and we don’t HAVE TO sell him, I’d most rather keep him to be honest. He can grow into a 40-50 mil player, and that works to our advantage, but I don’t think he’s worth that much right now.

I think it’s possible that we expect more money for Mauro than we can realistically get. I doubt it can go over 30 million, I expect barely 25 actually, and most people seem to expect 40+.
Anyway, I’m sure Atleti can think of something, some sort of exchange with Suarez + cash etc.
