Its January again which means it’s the time for the Deloitte Money league that ranks the top European clubs regarding revenues, we have Real Madrid at the top for the tenth consecutive year with €550 for the last year, but that’s not important, what we are looking at here is the Italian Clubs.
Juventus lead the Italians in the revenues too with €280 million in the tenth place, then comes Milan outside of the top ten with €123 million followed by Napoli with €165 million and Inter with €164 million in the top 20 and Roma have fallen out of the top 20 altogether, sitting at 24th behind the likes of West Ham United and Aston Villa.
The low revenue of the Nerazzurri is due to the very small match day revenues in comparison with the top ten clubs which barely hits the €19 million mark,

Milan always have a have bigger brand than us. they always have a player with big name & popular even for casual football spectator. Player like Beckham, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pirlo, those player really expand their fanbase. They also generate better main sponsor than our everlasting contract with Pirelli.
Lets face it, we have Zanetti but his charm isn’t that appealing to non football fans. Maybe Ibra and balotelli. But those two play for milan as well….
But i guess the main gap is from the champions league.
I agree with CL and their sponsor, but for me, bbilan ‘star’ so overrated, only made by their media so people outside Italy think their so good. pfffft. I prefer Criscito than De Sciglio in WC 2014, Mastour still playing for their reserve but we have many young player fighting for our starting line up. but yeah, they have very good marketing team. lets hope under Thohir we can expand our revenue
Thohir and all management staff have to work hard for increasing the revenue. It’s not normal club like Inter to have almost the same revenue with teams like Galatasaray and Everton and almost half of Juventus. Except Champions League and our own around 60 thousands new stadium, marketing and merchandising is very important. Inter have many fans all over the world and Indonesia is around 250 million if I’m not mistaken.
but I almost cant find Inter jersey on Nike Store in Indonesia
Well..there are some in Jakarta if I am not mistaken. I went to Indonesia a few years ago and spent couple of days in the capital city. I actually saw like 2-3 adidas stores..
some. but not many. I think you wanna say Nike store not Adidas store since our main partner Nike. lol

lol….yeah I just realized it….
seriously? where do you live? sumatra? papua? i think its not hard to find inter jersey in indonesia if you live in big cities like jakarta, bandung, surabaya
When you go to some notable shopping malls in Jakarta (like Plaza Senayan which I took the photo below), you should come to one of the country’s biggest retail shop in sport equipments: Planet Sports.
Inside the shop, you could see that every corner of the shop are full with the jersey from other club: Rube, BBMilan, Bayern, Real, Barca, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc. They are placed in their individual section, along with another merchandise like bag, scarf, ball, watch, etc.
But, WTF? Where’s my Inter’s section?? Finally I ask the shopkeeper, and he said that “there is no Inter’s section”.
*facepalm*
Planet Sports is the largest chain of sports & kids shops in Indonesia, with over 680 domestic stores (and still counting). Doing some agreement and cooperation with some biggest player in retail
comp will add some boost to the club financial rev., especially from outside
Italy. Thohir, as an Indonesian, must have been know this. And Indonesian Interisti, as the second largest interisti in the world, are so f*’n enthusiast about the club and will do anything to fulfill their thirst about Inter’s official merch (like I do). But unfortunately we can’t find anything beside Inter Jersey here.
I hope the management will sort this thing out, not only in Indonesia but also in other country with the same problem.
#Just my 2 cents. #ForzaInter
I live in Jakarta, like I said before, I can few but only in big mall. kinda stupid for Nike I guess, since MU and rubentus gonna change to Adidas, Inter and Barca should be their main priority (and we already make partnership since 1995 cmiiw)
wow, these numbers are shocking……inter only generates 164 million and 50 % of it goes to players and coaches that’s a recipe for disaster ! clearly inter needs to cut payroll.
then you have ac milan that generates 250 million a year and spends 95 mill a season on players and coaches to be tied with palermo ?? if they were in CL they would be the top revenue generating team in Italy !
Actualy, in that season they played in CL, maybe that explains a bit the gap between us.
How much did rube lose when they went into serie b?
when you look at the fact that juve is # 1 in yet another another stat it hasn’t affected our team TODAY……how is inter doing compared to the past? let me guess, WORSE ???

Rube are 10th you dumbass! And I was only wondering! I appreciate it’s a sore point but no need to get techy!
Juve is # 1 in Italy – just like the serie a Standings !!!
Ha ha thanks again for ‘not responding head on’ to my question….you dumbass hahahaha
How about this….city of Milan 2 losses…..city of torino 2 wins I am enjoying every bit of this weekend !
How about this……serie b?? hahahaha
you wanna laugh…inter’s future defense jonathan – Campagnaro – Vidic – Nagatomo !! LOL Serie B get ready for Inter !!
Yeah but we HAVEN’T been in serie b!!! hahahaha
great defense, do you even think you will catch palermo in the Serie A standings? LOL
You need to stop the Serie B comment. Is pointless, I will never accept it because it makes my team’s legacy look real bad. And I don’t like that.
re: Rube — I wonder is that figure pre or post payments to referees? 😉
they are not dependent on a 230 million loan from goldman sachs that’s fer sure !!
Galliani really is cheap, huh?
How come Milan is making more money than us and cannot pull a dicent transfer? And PSG? I understand that it incuedes their “sponsorship” deals with Saudi Arabia.
Perhaps because revenue is just income, not net profit?
Big revenue didnt matter a bit, if your cost is higher.
This chart dont tell the full story bro..
Sure, its also about how cost efficient you are, but their revenues show that they can generate more cash, and I don’t get how Milan is outperforming us by USD 80M. That is a massive gap to close for us.
remember that most of the players milan get are either free agents, on loan, or really cheap
Sure, once again ;), but that is their spending side. I’m just surprised that they generate so much more revenues than us, and at the same time they don´t spend on good reinforcmenets. Maybe they have more debts and are generaly less cost efficient.
their sale their merchandise quite good I think. Pippo as one of their legend attract more fans (I guess that not gonna be long with their performance lately). cmiiw, Adidas and Emirates one of their biggest revenue. it a shame for Nike, that even in my country, I rarely find Inter jersey in Nike store
Once upon a time, more like 10 years ago.. a few Nike stores in my country did have few Inter merchandises on sale. But since then, no more. Perhaps just the jersey in a few stores. Other types of Inter merchandise, like jacket, t shirt, polo shirt, bag etc have disappered. They still keep selling MU stuff and shit thou..
Couldnt argue with that. 80M is a massive massive gap. I wish sempreinter could get their hand on latest Inter financial statement / annual report and write an in depth analysis / article on it.
Previously, there is this blog that do this for many football clubs. Did an analysis on Inter once but it seems he is focusing on English teams now.
Anyone interest to know more, Google ‘the swiss ramble’ to find out.
If I’m not mistaken, reveneus only show how much money a club has generated this particular year. So, it doesn’t show how much costs a club has. If the spending is bigger than the revenue you end up bankrupt!
Platini’s idea of FFP is to tell the club you can not spend money on transfers each year if the spending is bigger than the revenue, and likeso you have to show us that you are not spending more than your capacity.
