Ronald Koeman is an interested bystander; the Southampton coach remains distant from the ordeal and had this to say; “I don’t know what the situation is with Osvaldo. What I can say is that he is on loan for a season and we expect him to stay there until it ends. After that we’ll talk again.”

After he’s gone AWOL, it’s hard to keep him, to be honest. That ship has sailed.
But it would have been useful for us if we kept him until the end of the season in order to have a proper alternative to Icardi in case of injury or in need of rest. Then we could have sent him back during the summer.
I’m saying this because I don’t think we can get another striker if Osvaldo leaves this winter.
