According to mercato expert Inter has signed Marcelo Brozovic from Dinamo Zagreb. The negotiations have been going on for the whole day and Inter has finished the deal for an ammount close to eight million euro’s.

I really like fullback who can deliver good Cross like Leighton Baines at Everton but balance type like Maicon or J.Zanetti is more suitable with current Inter. Darmian is good option thougt for Rb I think after dani alves aging I can’t see who will be the next World Class Rb.

Well he is certainly better than Susic. He is maybe the best player in our league after Kramarić. He’s a central midfielder, playmaker with a good long range shot, good at passing but little weak in duels. I hope he won’t get scared at Inter because he makes many mistakes then. I’ve been watching him for a couple of years now but I’m still not sure if he can compete at the highest level. Personally I wouldn’t give more then 5-6 mil for him but Mamic is a tough negotiator and a son of bitch.
Like I said I’m still not sure if he can suceed at this level, he’ll have to improve a lot here. I hope he can do it. But I wouldn’t be suprised is he turns out to be new Kuzmanović, he is not the sharpest pencil in the drawer of the pitch.
And let’s remember that this transfer is not over yet.

Actually, from what I know, Inter still want to get Lucas or Suarez. But, I think they cannot get either of them this winter, and so they decided to go after Brozovic.
Now, if they manage to make all the necessary sales for next season (so during this transfer period and the next summer one), especially the ones in midfield (Kuzmanovic, Krhin, M’Vila and I think maybe even Hernanes) – then Inter could go back for Lucas or Suarez, because both Liverpool and Atleti will be much more open to selling during the summer than they are now.
But not this winter, I think. I think only Murillo COULD arrive this winter, if not him, the market is done. Only sales could happen, and I think Kuzmanovic will leave.

Me neither personally, but to be honest he’s getting some serious wages and never really lived up to the hype (apart from a period of 2-3 games in a row when he was decent, then got injured and went back to being crap).

Hernanes is inconsistent, one of the reason is injuries. Other is frequent changes of his role, most ridiculous is Mancini’s attempts to make him winger. But hes qualities are undeniable, he can be enough effective as a trequarista or in central midfield. He, Kovacic, Shaqiri and some glimmers for Guarin brings creativity in our squad and if we decide that we’re not satisfied with him, i don’t think that Lucas Leiva or Mario Suarez are the guys we can expect to be better than him.
I too want to see him on central midfield. Brozovic can provide cover if he is injured and can rotate for the spot. Maybe provide competition for a starting spot ahead of Kuzmanovic.
We’ll just have to see what Mancini has in mind and what Ausilio can make happen, mate 🙂

Hernanes is a beast when he is on form and 100 percent fit. For me he is one of the best midfield

No idea if there is a hurry at all, but our defense is in shambles right now, and we can sell Campagnaro at any given moment I think. 🙂

Actually, Brozovic is more of a central midfielder than Kovacic. They’re quite similar actually, but Brozovic offers a little more defensively, and Kovacic is faster and more agile, so I think I’d leave them there.
Besides, I’ve always said that I want Kovacic as the trequartista so that Mancini can work with him (it was his own position).
Now, I don’t know if Brozovic will be a guaranteed starter, he will probably rotate with Guarin and Hernanes in CM and provide an alternative occasionally for Kovacic as AMC.
But yes, ultimately, I do believe one of Hernanes/Guarin will leave, I just don’t think it will happen right now. I expected so much more from Hernanes… pity if he never lives up to it.
The way I read this move is Mancini will deploy hernanes either as winger or trequartista because we r looking for two midfield names which have already consisted of medel guarin and kuz (decent).. by the arrival of 1 or 2 players in midlfield hernanes will fill the space in Offensive department I believe.

I think Kuzmanovic and M’Vila will leave, so I’d sign them out.
That leaves us with Medel, Guarin, Hernanes, Brozovic and Kovacic as midfielders that could play on a decent level (for some reason I don’t consider Krhin and Obi good enough, only for emergencies).
So, in a 4-2-3-1, if Hernanes moves to the trequartista role, that means he has to play, a regular starter. And if Kovacic moves back into midfield, he has to play too. And the only remaining midfield position is that of the destroyer, by default occupied by Medel. That leaves Brozovic and Guarin on the bench by default, as alternatives for rotation (which makes sense to some extent).
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mancio thinks about switching to 4-3-3 occasionally, though. That gives space for Brozovic/Medel/Kovacic with Hernanes and Guarin as alternatives in midfield, and Shaqiri/Icardi/Podolski with Palacio and Bonazzolli as alternatives…

well I Believe Madel is a must . I think Mancini want to elaborate Hernanes or Kovacic as winger. So 3 midfielder could be Madel – Brozovic – Guarin. for three top we have Kovacic/Podolski/Palacio (as LWF) – Icardi – Shaq/Hernanes/Bonazzoli (as RWF).
Please read the link I have attached in another post I have made on this page for additional insight. He fits in midfield, not having enough creativity yet for a trequartista, but good passing and ball control. Finishing not bad, good off the ball movement. The kind of potential we need for transition between attack and defense.

Well, with two quite similar players on the pitch you have to compensate one of the players abilities. If brozovic is better than kovacic defensively and kovacic is better in creating space, then Brozovic is the one who’s going to have to stay a bit deeper. Also it seems that he can hit some decent long shots so it maybe not a bad idea to keep him deeper than Kovacic who really needs to work on his finishing.
Exactly. He provides us options with versatility. He can bring some fluidity to midfield. He can provide some cover for Hernanes, or compete with Kuzmanovic for a starting spot.
I have already, along with others said about a deeper lying playmaker. Maybe Brozovic can develop that way, whilst going forward.
Ausilio has already surprised us. Let’s see what he does with Krhin, so that we get someone who can add some quality.

Even though he’s not on Mateo’s level back when he joined Inter, I’m sure Mancini can work his magic with him, he will have time. If I’m not mistaken you’re croatian. Can you describe in detail Brozovic, what kind of player he is. I have watched him a few times with Croatian national team, we’re he’s regular starter, but i don’t have deep impressions, except maybe that he’s hard worker.
I’m not Croatian, but close enough, I’m Macedonian 🙂 Very close to Croatia, though, very similar culture too, so I follow what happens 🙂
Anyway, the ESPN report that Reaz Ali has left provides a very good explanation on the kid.
He’s a hard working player, but isn’t anywhere near as creative and incisive as Kovacic, nor is he as strong and aggressive physically as Medel. He is very secure in possession, though, provides very solid passing and moves the ball around well (which is a problem for us lately, it seems, because we often have problems with the transition from defense to attack, as Guarin is very reckless on the ball).
I think that the experience at a top club like ours will allow Brozovic to develop further, both in a physical and a tactical sense (especially under a coach like Mancini).
Once again, though, Kovacic was a bigger signing than him, so don’t expect him to be as influencial. His role by definition is not one that commands too much of the spotlight.
Ok, my mistake. Opposite to most Inter fans I’m not impressed from Medel at all. He’s not enough good in defense, i expect from typical defensive midfielder to gain more balls and better stop opposite attacks, probably because he’s lack of physical presence. And he’s awful in transition and when we needed to provide the ball forward. As i understand Brozovic is more like box to box midfielder, but i really hope that he can be useful in front of the defense.
I hope too, he can be more useful in defense. Regarding Medel, he can be better positionally, but that is also due to our defense line not keeping their positions especially the RB and CB, with Ranocchia and Juan.
He makes many interceptions though. And Yes I agree he is awful in transition. Which is why we need midfielders like Brozovic who can contribute to all passages of play.
I actually think Medel’s ratings are suffering because of bad positioning from Ranocchia (who is supposed to provide cover for JJ when he bursts forward), but that could just be me 🙂
Medel is not the guy to carry the ball from defense into attack, he’s just a regular destroyer with decent passing (he rarely misses his passes, but they are almost never dangerous, similar to Obi Mikel for example).
As for Brozovic, don’t get me wrong, he won’t be in front of the defense, but rather in center midfield, he just comes in deep to get the ball and then carries it forward (well, strictly speaking; things are, of course, much more dynamic than that 🙂 )
medel is the key if i can remember it was lazio game when medel wasnt playing from the start and lazio was kocking us on counter attack and than medel came in in 2nd half and balace was perfecti just hope that it will not be the same now against torino with kuz. …
I don’t know from what Medel suffering, but in my opinion he’s not doing enough good job for destroyer. I still hope that Brozovic can be more useful in his role, especially when we play at home against lower table teams, who defend with 11 players behind the ball. I don’t see how Brozovic can find place in center midfield, when we still have Guarin, Hernanes and i think that Mancini will rely more on Kovacic as a central midfielder too, not as a trequarista. Probably Brozovic will be successor for Kuzmanovic, who maybe will on his way to Hamburger, according the rumors.
I disagree with you frigo.. Medel wins many interceptions and he always tries to take the ball from the opponent and he actually covers for rannochia. Also, I agree that medel doesnt know how to move from
defense to attack.. By the way i think mancinis midfield system revolves around one defensive midfielder, one central midfielder and one attacking midfielder.. so i would assume brozovic will be in the central midfielder role so when medel intercepts he just quickly passes the ball to brozovic to distrubte the ball better towards shaqiri kova podolski or icardi…

He is born in 92, so he is 2 years older than Mateo who was bought at the age of 18 (2 years ago). Let’s hope he is at a higher level than Mateo was when he joined, because Brozovic is 22 years old and that means he is 4 years older than what Mateo was when he joined.
What I meant to say was that he isn’t of the same quality as Kovacic from what I’ve seen so far. Kovacic is out of this world, this guy is “just” with the potential to be a very good player.
Growth can be unpredictable, though, he’s never been in a club like Inter, with fitness coaches of such quality, medical staff, nutritionists, a manager like Mancini, a club of such greatness etc… We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s a good signing. I just don’t expect the most obvious of impacts, mostly due to his position 🙂
