After Inter’s reinforcements these last weeks the plan is to trim the squad and make cash. A player that is affected by this is Alfred Duncan, currently at Sampdoria, who, according to SampNews.24.com, could be redeemed by the blucerchiati during this transfer session. The white smoke is close, according to reports from the portal and the operation could conclude around 3 million euro.

i can’t understand all those complains about this deal because we sure now that duncan will play regularly in the same time we receive 3 m to pay for brozovic and if he play good we need just to pay extra 2 m to bring him back . this is good deal i think
i told you before they are gonna sell primavera players
If we got Marcelo Brozovic (22) then there will be a tiny room for Duncan (21). Sorry for him..
To the people complaining that we should sell other players instead of young ones:
1. We need subs too incase of injuries and fatigue. The older/mediocre players will serve us better due to experience.
2. We still have an option to buy back on most of these transfers.
WIN WIN
srsly when is one of our youth products EVER gonna make an impact on the first team…. yes i know andreolli but that was like 10 years later lol
What is for sure is that nothing of that will change if we keep just putting them on the bench for a season with no playtime (with the likes of for example Nagatomo and Kuz in front of the line), and then sell them to Bologna or Cesena.
I know that I don’t see what happens on the training ground, but even so I can not believe that Kuzmanovic is performing so much better than Obi/Khrin.
What squad, Duncan it’s part of Sampdoria squad now? We trim on the wrong place, there’s no sense to cut youngsters, but keeping players like Campagnaro, Jonathan, Obi, etc.
We are moving in the wrong direction. We have fees to pay since we made some amazing transfers, but we are selling young prospects instead of old/useless wood like Pereira, Guarin, Nagatomo, Jonathan, Kuzmanovič, Krhin, Obi, Campagnaro,…I mean Ausillio is definitely MVP of this transfer market and rocks when it comes to signings, but now he has to improve when it comes to selling players.
yeah, totally agree
maybe we could hire another transfer specialist, transfer-out specialist and let Ausilio do the transfer-in project
As far as I know Thohir changed our youth-selling strategy to the one that is implemented in Real – selling with buy-back clause. So it’s not like we loose them forever. Thanks to that we will have a chance to see if they are worth our attention. As for dead woods – You can’t sell everything except the first eleven, You need to have someone on the bench and I’d rather see those woods on our bench than our young players with no play-time. As for Ausilio inability to sell – You need someone who would be interested in buying those dead woods too.
Ah man…First, this tactics doesn’t work with clubs in financial crisis lol, Real sells them so they get some playtime and can easily buy them back if they prove to be good. We can’t do that with our limited funds. Secondly, I never said sell them all, I merely made a range of players which could be sold to balance things out.. Third, we have had many offers for certain players(Pereira, Kuzmanovič,..). The transfer managment must realize what we can actually get for them since most of our deals fall through, because we ask too much for them.
We are not talking here about Moratas and other deals worth 20-30m, for Duncan we have clause of 5-6m, if he prooves to be worth more, I can’t see a problem with finding such amount of money, and seems that neither Thohir. Here primavera players won’t have any chance to develop, on loan without any buy-out clause this chance is not too big either. The situation changes if the other club invests money in a player. And I am for that solution.
As for selling reserve players, asking too much is one of the problems, but not the main one. Kuzmanovic, for example, would already be gone, if HSV offered obligation to buy after loan, not the right, and if there are other offers for him I don’t think they differ from that one. Asking 16-18m for Guarin in the summer was an exaggeration, but selling him now for 8m to Seville would be a joke. Same for Pereira – I don’t think asking 5m for him, after decent WC, is too much. We should not overvalue our players, but selling them for peanuts is also not the way.
Yeah and we sold Duncan for half that in the deal. So tell me, in our current situation, you think its smart that we pay double the fee we receive just so someone test drives them like they could on normal loan? Just because we managed to get Shaqiri doesn’t mean we have he money lol. Thorir is banking on Sunderland’s obligation to buy Alvarez and us getting to CL to cover the costs, otherwise we will have to sell some major players. 3 millions here and 3 millions ithere, that you say are nothing for us, and we have a big chunk of our budget gone.
Nope, we don’t pay double the fee to test drive someone we know already, we pay for a developement of this player and a chance to see in the end if he will reach the level we need, without having to do that by ourselves, as we kinda don’t have time and place for that. And there is a difference between normal loan and this solution, but I’ve pointed that already.
And nope, I don’t see a problem in finding those missing few milions if the guy will prove his worth. It can be simply done by selling back-up players whom we will replace Duncan with, since he would finaly be strong enough to do that. Also not every such trade would end up in buying kid back, 1 per 3 is a very optimistic number and this means we sell 3 kids for 9m, and buy one who becomes good for 6.
What is also important for me, Thohir hasn’t shown so far even once he doesn’t care about our youth and it’s highly possible, he knows what he is doing to allow such strategy. 🙂
Well I guess we have different views on the topic. Agree to disagree.
Maybe we need to sell Krhin with buy back clause or give him more chances. But, I still think Obi can be useful, if we have a long season, with Coppa and Europa League.
Besides since Palacio isn’t really doing well, why not try Podolski just behind Icardi(as he prefers), with Kovacic initially on the bench(hope I’m wrong), and Obi and Shaqiri out wide. Obi is not a bad player.
Pereira is actually loaned out to Estudiantes. Yes, he should be sold though, just like the rest.
As for Krhin and Obi, maybe they need more chances. There is too much competition for midfield places, since Medel has already occupied the DM spot, that leaves only one more. Hernanes, Guarin, Kuzmanovic compete for it.
What if Krhin is rotated around either Medel, or Kuzmanovic(for the other midfield spot?)
Obi could be used wide, especially if Podolski is placed in the middle.
Obi and khrin should stay, mostly because they can be used to fulfil european cups restrictions, and they can provide some back up ( I don’t think Khrin is happy with that though). Kuzmanovic, although being decent in last games, should be sold, since Brozovic is on his way here.
As for Podolski, Mancini plays with attacking midfielder behind Icardi and i don’t think Podolski can perform well in that role. For him better would be 4-3-1-2 where he could play as a second striker next to Icardi.
Brozovic could be M’vila replacement. We still need another midfield player arrival to confirm that Kuzmanovic will be replaced.
Agreed about Podolski point you made. This implies that probably we are not getting the desired impact from him, with the 4-2-3-1 formation. If 4-3-1-2 can bring better impact from Podolski, then we need to sell someone from midfield, and get another replacement apart from Brozovic only.
I am agree with u.. He needs to improve how to sell the players with a good price$ especially with some young prospects in the future
