According to FcInterNews.it, Catania Calcio have abandoned their interest in 22 year old Inter goalkeeper Francesco Bardi, who is currently on loan at Chievo Verona. Catania are close to signing Torino’s Belgian keeper Gillet and will therefore soon have enough cover in that department. This seems to leave Bardi with two alternatives: to find a club abroad – there is reported interest from Spain – or to stay at Chievo and compete for a starting spot with Guido Bizzarri, a task which could prove to be very tough. The last days of the transfer window will be decisive for the young keeper.
