The winter transfer window just closed and yet here are more transfer rumors. This one regards Inter player Ricky Alvarez who is currently on loan at Sunderland. According to the Mirror the player will be bought by Sunderland in summer for a fee of 11 million euro’s. Alvarez is expected to start tonight for Sunderland in the FA cup.
“Alvarez has never really been in shape, he has not been able to show what he is worth. I will give him a chance on Tuesday (today). I am sure that he can give us quality offensively. He is a great player he could and he should be an added value. He is an important player for us. He just needs to play and the more he plays the better he will do the rest of the season”, said Sunderland coach Gustavo Poyet to the Mirror.

Ricky scored on today’s match. Great to see his name back on the scoresheet again.
And it was a beatiful goal as well, wish him good, could have been a key player for us if he was consistant.

Alvarez could do well in la liga… dunno why, but i feel his style of play suits that league
Stupidest article ever (the Mirror one) It states “among other clauses” but does not state what they are – as they probably don;t know – but I can guarantee that the clause is not “Sunderland stay up so they have to buy him for £7.5m” More likely including appearance numbers and possibly assists or goals scored. What if we signed him, he broke his legs in a challenge in training, never played and Sunderland stayed up?? Very unlikely that we would be forced to sign a player who may never play again!

Not really a choice since they have obligation to buy if they stay in the BPL.
Ricky, another player with potential but always struggle with his fitness or consistency. we should do this type of deal (loan with obligation to buy) with Guarin, Nagatomo, etc
