how can you blame ranocchia for this mistake? i am not a fan of ranocchia because he lacks speed. but this mistake is not his fault. medel and juan need to watch higuain in this situation. medel just passes higuain over to ranocchia while ranocchia is not yet back in position. so it’s medel’s fault. besides this juan should have covered this situation.

Still, it’s an amateur mistake (can’t deny that, can you?), shouldn’t happen to a professional, not in the 94th minute of such an important match.
The final ingredient in the recipe is that it’s not his first mistake that’s been so costly for us. We’ve conceded tons of goals because of him this season. The message is that he really needs to go, or at least be benched, an emergency option much like Andreolli is right now. His quality merits no more than that.

Why is Ranocchia so far ahead anyway? Positionally speaking it’s his duty to make sure the opposition CF is under control.
He just had to hit that ball mate, Mancini is playing a high pressing system, he’s just way too slow for that. JJ can make a mistake, but more often than not he goes back and is good enough to make it right in the same situation.
mancini makes these desicions, with high balls ranocchia must trie to win the header, and medel takes over his position as a CB. he must stay there till they can make the switch back. obviously medel didn’t wait for the right moment. and if you look at the goal, the only one who is anticipating a move from higuain is ranocchia. if medel and juan just followed higuain nothing would have happend

also i’m not a big fan of ranocchia but he reads the play a lot better than Juan. Juan can compensate this with his incredible speed, strenght and determination, but i think that if want to have a role in italy and especially europe we need to change both juan jesus and ranocchia. We already got murillo, and i hope he is what we need, as i dont know him.

It is in these instances alone that Javier disappoints me. He’s always too soft on everyone. As long as we’re like this with players like Ranocchia, we will suffer mistakes that will cost us dearly, as it was the case against Napoli yesterday and as it has been many times before with this guy.
Rano used to be pretty decent. But ever since he got the captain armband he started playing like handicapped david luiz.
Not really true, he’s always been shit since he joined, though he did have brief periods of time where he was excellent. For example, first half of the season under Stramaccioni, he was fantastic alongside Samuel, then got injured and when he came back it was like he’d never played football before.
The most disappointing part about this is that up till the 93rd minute I couldn’t believe my eyes.. I mean Rano was actually having a GOOD match for a change.. And then all my dreams got shattered with less a minute to ET. I’m sorry, but whether Medel was supposed to cover Higuain or not does not exempt Ranocchia from making such an amateur mistake, with 1 minute to go and in such an important match, WHILE BEING THE CAPTAIN. If I don’t see a Vidic-Juan CB duo against Palermo I swear i’ll go mad.
