On a new channel “GazettaTV” Paul Condo met with a personality close to many Inter supporters hearts, Jose Mourinho. The full interview will air on television an excerpts of this will be on Gazetta.it. Here is a sample of the questions asked:
Was the treble the greatest feat of your career thus far?: “Yes, in modern football the treble is difficult. It may be one thing in Portugal but in Italy it is different.”
When you left Inter did you feel Italian football was moving downward?: No, I never though this. Every game was very hard. In England matches are difficult because there is an incredible mentality, but in Italy I had great incentives to prepare for the games. I faced teams prepared at a tactical level, with good coaches, organized through the defensive point of view. I always had great difficulty.”

Even mourinho knows that seria a is tough! And a lot of stupid people calim it’s weak…
every league has its own challenges. but there are no other league that has more champions winners than Italy. i don’t think Italy lose its appeal because of weak championship but rather the marketing department where the money are. Look what happened when the EPL capitalized the Asian market, and losing ground on the infrastructure issues especially owning their very own stadium or upgrading them at least.
Sorry i don’t want to offend anyone but i thing we’re not living in the past.. Lets keep this memory where it’s belong…
I hope he wins it again. Preferably back with us, but I’d be okay if he did it with Chelsea too, as soon as this season, or the next. (I’ve always wondered, is it considered a treble if you win EPL + UCL + FA Cup, or EPL + UCL + Capital One Cup? Or either?)
I don’t think Chelsea are gonna win Europe this season, though, they’ve gone below expectations lately.
Tough to explain in words so forgive the equation style stuff below!
EPL + FA Cup + League Cup = domestic treble
EPL + League Cup + UCL = continental treble (lower prestige than below treble)
EPL + FA Cup + UCL = continental treble (the equivalent of serie a+coppa italia+UCL/la liga+CDR+UCL)
Obviously winning the europa league in place of the UCL would be a treble too and that’d rank as lower prestige.
The League Cup’s viewed as inferior to the FA Cup for a few key reasons—lower prize money, less open to lower division sides therefore less likely to have spectacular upsets and the semis are two-legged
