Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio found time to speak to Mediaset Premium just before kick-off in Inter’s Europa League showdown with Wolfsburg: “We want to qualify and be one of the eight best teams in the Europa League. We’re at San Siro – our home. We showed in Germany that if we play our game we can be dangerous. I’m convinced we can do well tonight.”

Ausilio was then asked about his trip to watch Barcelona play last night: “I went to see a Champions League match. It was a nice opportunity and I was happy to take it. We’re already working on preparing the side for next season. Was I impressed by Jovetic and Toure? I was impressed by Messi! It was a great match.”

The interview ended with a look to the future: “Mancini is very motivated. Results haven’t been going our way recently but we believe in the job we’re doing. We’ve invested in young players with great potential. We’ll need time to grow and build a winning side but we’ll definitely be stronger next year. We’re all convinced that the results will come – we must continue this journey.”
