“It is a defeat and we are very displeased with it. We dominated and we lost, I am very annoyed for the lads. This is football,” said Inter coach Roberto Mancini to Mediaset Premium after the game.

“We still have ten games and we need to play like we did tonight. The defense did better, we conceded very little except for a break or two in the last minutes. We need to keep playing and collect points. If I regret not playing the Vidic we saw tonight? Vidic played well today, as he has done other times. With Juan Jesus on the flank we were more covered.”

When returning again to the game and how Inter played:

“The team has improved a lot with the errors and the high and lows. Excluding the cup where we encountered a team that was better than us and where we made a lot of mistakes the team is improving. For this I don’t lose heart and I am pleased.”

Mancini did not comment the refereeing errors and instead underlined how proud he was of his team.

“All players gave their all, especially considering that six of them also played on Thursday. Obviosuly if you dominate you also need to score. The defense was good and all in all a draw would not have been a fair result either.”
