After the presentation of the party for the 10 years of ‘Colombia te quiere ver’, his charity foundation, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba spoke to journalists at Palazzo Marino, including the envoy of our partner FcInterNews.it:

Great achievement the 10 years, does that describe the progress?
“Thank you for being here, it is important that these things are communicated to the Italians, who have shown sensitivity. We carry the project allowing 150 children to go to school every day. Every child costs us 60 cents, so imagine what we can do to help. The small change that remain in your pocket after some shopping is enough. We visit the populations of the Colombian Pacific, where there are poor families, and for the first time they get medical help, nurses, doctors. We go forward with initiatives aimed at children in Colombia.”

Could there be more than 150 shortly?
“In these 10 years I have wanted to keep it at 150 children, to give them security of always having food to eat. My idea now is to extend this opportunity to feed not only on school days, but also in the other to give continuity to the process of physical and mental development.”

Are you also suffering for Inter this year like other former Nerazzurri?
“You always suffer, he who is an Interista can’t do anything other than suffer.”

What kind of match will the derby be?
“The derby is a match in itself, it is special, it is also used in times of trouble because it gives you energy and motivation to react and give something back to the fans who support you, showing that you want to do better than you have.”

It could therefore be the right opportunity for Inter?
“There’s always a chance, to win the derby is something special.”

What is missing at Inter to solve the problems in defense?
“I think it’s hard after a year and a half of work in a certain way to be able to understand the mechanisms that coach Mancini wants. I know how he is working, even tactically on a defensive level. For me it was a great pleasure to work with him when I was coached by him for four years, I learned a lot from him. It takes time, these guys will improve the position of the team after this season and in the summer they will focus only on the work that the coach wants to do to get better results.”

You who know Mancini, what percentage would you give that he will stay?
“I think he’s the last person that wants to leave at a moment like this. He has already said it, he feels responsible for what’s going on even if the responsibility isn’t all his. His personality makes him behave like that, also to take pressure off the boys. The team, however, must give him a hand, you try to do well on the pitch to allow the path to continue. Now the club is supporting him and makes him feel safe, but maybe he needs something more meaningful in the future, to know if he can count on certain players to build something important at Inter.”

Can Murillo lend a hand?
“Jeison is a very strong player physically, aggressive, a natural defender. I don’t think he will have any difficulties, I hope, to understand the demands of the coach. He will be at an advantage compared to others who have worked with Mazzarri and with other methods. He will be incorporating the ideas of Mancini, and I think he will do well with his qualities.”
