Today Inter legend Nicola Berti turns 48. The midfielder who was very fond of scoring important derby goals and was a vital part of the scudetto winning 1988-89 Inter squad. He won 1 scudetto, 2 UEFA cups and 1 Italian Super Cup with Inter. He also has two medals from the -90 (bronze) and -94 (silver) World Cups with Italy.

What interisti most love about Berti beside from the fact that he was a midfielder who ran constantly and was a threat in offense is the fact that he never misses a chance to point out that he is an interista and takes jabs at rivals Milan. During a press conference after a derby in the Coppa Italia where he argued with Franco Baresi he said; “meglio sconfitti che milanisti” (better to be defeated than being milanisti). Berti played 229 games for Inter and scored 29 goals for the nerazzurri.

Happy birthday Nicolino! Here are some of his derby goals.
