I think that in the first half mancini got the better tactic against rudi garcia, but in the second half the team seem tired and out of place. Mancini sub could be a little all too late, however if he hadn’t sub the players like he did today, we could have not get this dramatic finish that made me jump around ecstatically. what a fantastic game tonight, it’s been a while since i’m feeling so happy watching an inter game

not the biggest.. but he’s a waste of creativity, and thus space. if inter should retain a scoreline he would be ok since he’s as a defender. but, he can’t pass or dribble and are not a fast thinker. he’s aggressive, nothing more really..
Well you don’t field a DEFENSIVE midfielder to dribble, that is why you have Hernanes/Shaqiri/Kovačič and such. Medel’s job is defending, intercepting and such and he is really good at that.
gounkouri who’s pretty young is far better playmaker than medel i wouldn’t be surprised if mancini plays gounkouri next game against udinese
I agree on that, Gnoukouri has been solid in these 2 games, and these 2 games were against Roma and Milan. Maybe now Mancini will give 4-2-3-1 a go. We shall see. I like 4-3-1-2 for now more though.

Like I said in a few posts above, we need a signing for either formation, a new winger for 4-2-3-1 or a striker for 4-3-1-2. Palacio is too old for full matches, we should lower his wages and use him as a sub.
yes, i understand what you mean. but, a defensive player who can’t play the ball is like having 5 defenders. the game will then be both slow and less creative.
let me explain as i think you misunderstood. medel is a good defensive midfielder. But he lacks especially passing. In my mind he is then useless. compare medel with de rossi or naingolan, as both are similar. both roma players have something extra to their defensive qualities.
But who would you play instead of him? We don’t have a midfielder that can defend as well as him. At best, you would be sacrificing defending for creativity at a DMF position.

but, my personal opinion of midfield play should be to interfere (and not be a 3rd defender) and thus sacrifice good DM´s (rossi, naingolan) for hard workers but more offensive players (vidal, marchisio). The only replacement would be brozovic. Guarin has all it takes but are not a hard worker unfortunately.
After some more crucial signings, I would love to field Allan in that spot.

i totally agree. i mean Medel is not that bad of a player, but as a DM he is simply not effective. most of the time he is just chasing around the opponent without actually obtaining the ball – seems like another role we can’t cover for a long long time
I think Medel is very good DM. He makes key tackles and covers the CB really well at times. As for his playmaking ability he is not good, just makes simple passes, but I think we knew that and I don’t think we brought him in to do that.
i dont want him to dribble or have a vision like Xavi, but i feel like he is not that effective in ball-winning – but i know, most of the times any team could run through our midfield so it’s not easy to stop every attack
He might not be our biggest problem but he lacks quality. He doesn’t have enough quality to be a starter at Inter. I’m not saying that Gnoukouri is better, but he put 2 solid performances already.
I think we could replace him with Allan, but only after priority signings are done, like a fullback(Darmian for example) or striker/winger(depends if Mancini wants to play 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-3-1). He should be replaced with a better player, but IMO, he is not a priority.

Completely disagree. Medel is very useful and a great defensive midfielder. The criticism on his passing is so unwarranted and is underated. He should stay for a long time and we don’t need to get another pure DM.
