After having signed a new deal which keeps him at Inter until 2019, Mauro Icardi returned to the spotlight through an interview with Inter Channel. Here is what the Argentinian striker had to say: “It has been a busy week. I am happy that the deal was completed. It’s a good thing for me and for Inter. The club will do the best they can to build a great team and get back to their winning ways. I am staying here because I am confident, we are a young team and several players will arrive to help us improve even more. Finishing as the league top scorer is an important achievement, the best one for any striker. However I am a bit disappointed because I could have done even better and outscored Luca Toni. But I feel satisfied, for the award and for the renewed deal”.
To finish up, Icardi sent a message to the supporters ahead of the coming season? “Nothing is like being in the stadium? Of course, San Siro is one of the most beautiful stadia in the world and when it is full it is even more fantastic. To play in front of our supporters in a packed Giuseppe Meazza is absolutely amazing”.
