Mateo Kovacic’s future is at Inter, at least if you ask him. But some are still not convinced by his choice and feel that maybe he should go elsewhere for his developments sake. And when that someone is the Croatian national team coach Niko Kovac then things get serious. Today in Kovac had this to say about Kovacic’s future during a press conference:
“Mateo’s future? I don’t know. But should he join an important club I would be happy for him.”

Even if Niko Kovac apparently doesn’t consider Inter an “important” club currently, he should know enough about European club football to realize what a stupid statement that is. At least Inter has a history of greatness and accomplishments, and a huge potential to get back there. Niko Kovac has yet to earn the right to be labelled important.

Croatian media presents Kovacic as a football demigod and everyone there is convinced that he needs to play for Barcelona or Real. No grip on reality what-so-ever. Just ignore them, they will eventually eat their words, just like in 2010 when we beat everyone 🙂
Most people in Croatia believe that Kova has a huge potential just like the rest of the world, it isn’t for nothing that Barca is scouting him, they director Braida confirmed it.
I’m not a fan of Kovač as a coach of the national team but I can’t blame him for this statement. He didn’t mean that Kova is now good enough to play for Real or Barca, he said just ‘important club’ which Inter wasn’t in the last 4 years, at least not for anyone else but their fans. I’m mean Inter missed out on any European football two times in the last three seasons..
We’ve been a complete mess in the period after Treble, to deny it is just lying to yourself. Form the president to the management to the coach and finally to the players..
I hope that changes in the future but that is the cruel truth for the past four seasons.
Inter still has the right to try and stand back up on it’s feet and it can’t be done without quality players so Kovac can go fuck himself just like anyone else saying that Kovacic deserves better. We deserve better.
