Rome-based Corriere dello Sport report in todays paper that the idea hasn’t changed and Xherdan Shaqiri is set to leave Inter after only 6 months.
“The former Bayern Munich player returned to training yesterday and also played in the match with the rest of his teammates during training scoring a few goals, in particular he scored a spectacular goal where he from nearly no angle curled the ball into the back of the net. His idea of leaving Inter however, has not changed” Corriere reports.

To be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if we have to wait until the beginning of August before the deal for Jovetic is materialized and Shaqiri goes to Schalke.
Why?
Because Inter don’t seem 100% sure if they will be signing Perisic yet.
Perisic is vital to the deal for Shaqiri, because Inter will have to pay cash for the Croat – which means that they need fresh cash – which they will get from forgoing the obligation to pay Bayern for Shaqiri.
Wolfsburg seem to be dragging on the deal for Perisic because of two reasons:
1. The fact that they don’t yet know if they will sell de Bruyne (in which case they really won’t need money) – but this is the less important factor, because:
2. They are playing Bayern in the SuperCup on the 2nd of August, and they probably want to keep him until then.
I believe Wolfsburg will sell Perisic to Inter eventually because they already got another winger to “replace” him as the alternative to Schurrle.
Also, the pieces are moving at Schalke as well – they already sold Farfan and could sell Draxler to Juventus – which means they will certainly need a winger and it seems that they’ve opened up the road to the Shaqiri deal. They will also have the cash to do it since they got like 10m for Farfan and certainly won’t get anything less than 25-30 for Draxler.
Finally, Inter are returning to Italy on the 2nd of August (the same day Wolfsburg play the SuperCup with Bayern). I expect us to sign Felipe Melo on the way there when we stop by in Istanbul to play Galatasaray (they might even inquire about Alex Telles for the left back position if they manage to plant Nagatomo to them).
Then we’ll only be left to search for a striker.
But, it could also happen that Jovetic signs before that IF Inter are sure of the deals for Perisic and Shaqiri, since Jovetic is a loan + buy anyway.
If Shaqiri leaves Nagatomo is gonna go samurai on some bitches
