Giuseppe Marotta had tried to buy him in 2014 and he could make another move for the fullback now. But the competition for the ex-Torino player is not bad, he is followed by Schalke 04, West Ham, Roma and Napoli. The Germans have offered 4 million, plus 2 million euros in bonuses.

Santon makes mistakes, but is so much better defensively than D’Ambrosio. Sell him and Nagatomo, get Criscito. Play Santon and Criscito, Montoya and JJ as subs.
Santon biggest problem is his defensive play.
look how he only lightly running (read:watching) when Miranda struggled with podolski, while he supposed to picked Sneijder who only around 1 meter near him.
D’Ambrosio did better job defensively, but he’s really-really bad when moving forward.
I believe Kova was supposed to be marking Sneijder? I’m not sure but it’s a bit harsh to blame one person for that goal…as a unit we defended that play badly as nobody came out to close down the angle for the shot..and Handanovic really shouldn’t have got beaten near post.He probably picked it up late but it was a good play from the two ex-Inter men and a good finish by Sneijder.
well not saying it’s all his fault, Miranda supposed to stop podolski in the first. but Santon also should be aware that Sneijder was lurking around just about 1 meter near him, but instead he just lightly running and looking Miranda-podolski duel.
so you can’t say who supposed to marked who, when there are enemy really close to you lurking around freely, you have to close him down no matter who suppose to be marking that player.
