In a chat with Indonesian news portal DetikSport, Inter president Erick Thohir had the chance to speak about Assane Gnoukouri, the young Ivorian midfielder who is looking to become an important part of Mancini’s new Inter: “He is only 18 years old, but during the pre-season he has been very important for us and that fills me with pride. He is proof that it’s possible for our youngsters to grow and help the team”.
Source: FcInterNews.it

i’m afraid if thohir will sell icardi, jovetic, gnou, etc. i remember he wants to make inter like arsenal, does it mean selling our stars and creating new stars for “profit”?
Still waiting for a youngster to actually break into the first team proper. It is easy to say how important he was for our pre season tour but it means nothing. There have been so many player get to Gnokouris position but not get trusted by the management and slip away.
When are Inter going to realise that the only way these young players are going to make the grade is by trusting them to do the job on the pitch. I still remember when we bought in Rocchi and game him game time over youngsters who would have been much better and wanted it much more.
he talks quite the same when he said about kova, maybe he wants to get fund from him though?
And now it turns out most of you guys are Kovacic fans rather than Inter fans.
So get the fuck out of here and go support Real, just like your hero.
fuck that guy. have you seen the picture where he has kissing the madrid badge.
Oh please! Have you read his interview?!!
“I’m not disapponted about my Inter experience. There are hard moments in football and life. Inter is a great club and i’m sure that they will be great again soon.”
This is class! The management and coach called him the center of project, then dumped him to another club after preseason training. This guy has class!
how are you going to kiss the badge of a club you haven’t even played for. wtf. i felt a little sympathy for him before. but now, fuck that guy. hope he rots on the bench.
I hope he rots on the bench too. Only to get him back for half the price 😉
It is not a big deal imo, it is a normal act in these days of modern football, have u read the past comments the 3-4 days ago? When you have the oppurtinity to go to a better club and when u see you are the only worthy player in your team which can make some real money the club you love is truely in needing for that and finally when your club management have decided already to push you out..what you can do?! It is not a good response to someone that has showed all of us Interistas the true love of himself, just my opinion though
it just for media gesture
Or you can SHUT UP and respect others opinion.
99% of the people whom are angry for Kova leaving is because they’re afraid that Pirlo II story is going to happen, and that’s for their love for the club!
Those who turn against the club with a 35M transfer, deserve absolutely NO respect.
Go and suck the rest of your milk kiddo, it is the time to go to bed for the children in your age
Your mama doesn’t let me sleep smart ass!
OK, lets see how old are you?
Ask your sweet mama.
First of all 35 M for Kova is not enough !!!!!!! AND I am sure you are just Thohir fan. You talk just like a businessman. So let see how he contribute to the club coming !!!!!
35M is not enough?
So what do u expect for a player who can’t find his place in the team after more than two years, and a big game flop who has just some glimpses of talent here or there?
dude we live in age that player like sterling is 70 mil euro , so kovacic can be sold for 40 mil euro and also illara is 32 mil
Those players have EPL media hype bro, but in Serie A there is no such thing.
if only thohir copying zamparini style we can sold that kid for 60 mil
Zamparini sold his soul to devil lol
Anyway Zamparini doesn’t have FFP concerns.

I’m too busy with your mama, just don’t have enough time for Play Station.
Amin you know that you are not in that size kid, If you really dare to say such things why not we meet him privately and take care of what you said right here, ok? You got what I meant, Where are u from?
I’ve nothing nice to say to a troll like u. If u want respect, stop bullshitting about Playstation or age or any irrelevant stuff.
Adding to this, I’ve no respect for opinion of those who turn against their club by selling a player and I believe no one is bigger this club.
6 year contract = kissing the badge before even played
Guys, could anyone tell me why there are no news about Duda anymore. Now that Mateo has left, he could be really useful!!
he might be signed. inter wants a loan but they want cash.
We have cash now, they’d better spend it on Duda than Perotti. He’s 7 years younger after all!
no idea if we are actually spending money or continuing loaning..
duda is not a winger. i could see him being a replacement for jovetic or hernanes.
He could instantly have an impact in the 4-3-1-2 system, playing behind Jovetic and Icardi. To be honest the only remedy for Kova leaving would be Gnoukori and Duda starting for me.
mancini needs wingers that for sure. in a 4-3-1-2 our fullbacks need to do all the attacking(wide) and they just suck at it
“… that fills me with pride” my ass. You just sold our pride, soon you might gonna sold your pride too.
Let’s put Thohir statement in the perspective that Gnoukouri comes from Inter Primavera, while Kova come from outside our young system. Thohir refers to the structural development in young system, on how to integrate the young system and senior squad. He talked on system level and Gnoukouri is the example of the sign of successful integration. He is the sign that Inter way on playing football will be integrated soon. It takes time, but we will be there if the stability is maintain. Therefore, I think its not relevant if we compare to “Inter tradition” on wasting young talent. Since, he talked on system level (young academy promote and contribute to senior squad).
I understand that lots of people upset with Kova sells, but we tried him for 2,5 years in various position. For me, it is not because Kova is bad. Its just that Italian football is not suited in Kova playing style. Maybe, he will shine in spain or england. I used to think that he will shine in england. If he play, lets say for Chelsea, then I think he will easily settle in on Mou strategy on counter attack. Kova can bring the ball forward in counter attack schema and distribute the ball to winger or make a direct pass. Its possible since the game in England is open, unlike in Italy. In this sense, I am understood the club policy on selling Kova, even I am disappointed as well. So, I think we should put the statement, policy, in the certain context to be able to understand the club movement.
However, I read a lot of f-word lately. I don’t know why, but I think we can deliver a more nice word and discuss the club policy and response on media issue in more interesting way. Its my opinion, which we can agree and disagree. 🙂
FYI, Gnouk has just joined inter from france in 2014 with his brothers. He is not yet home grown/league grown, so you can hardly say he comes from our youth system. .
And kova came here when he was 18, he could possibly (maybe not, depend on his birth and age registered with us) become home grown/league grown if we keep him.
I agree kova will shine in spain. it is the most suitable place for him.
I see.. I thought he learned tactical aspect, etc at Inter. Doesn’t he? Well, if we argue from administrative matters on Kova, maybe we can call him a home grown.
Anw, thanks for the information. In personal, I think Kova will shine if he play for Barca instead of Madrid. His dribbling and short passing style will fit in Barca tiki taka. 🙂
what!! he would never shine at barca. it’s not about the level of football but rather the way of football.
I see.. I have a conclusion from your argument. But, can u explain more? So, I can have a round argumentation here. 🙂
he is playstyle doesn’t suit barcelona. they value technical abilities above alot of things. kova just lacks that. his good passes from come very deep positions. and he always been more comfortable starting from his own half. he isn’t good enough to break up a compact team. he thrives on low defensive lines. because he gets the space he wants. would never work out in barcelona. something like madrid, chelsea, dortmund suit him better.
I see.. I am sorry, since I a little bit confuse to differentiate “level of football” with “way of football”. I though level of football is more technical issue, while way of football is strategy.
I think you want to say that he suits better for the team that use a counter attack strategy rather than possession football? Since he can run from deep.
Well, I think Kova short and through pass will be suit better for Barca. Since they have fast forward in Messi, Suarez, and Neymar. Anw, we can agree that we disagree. But I do agree with u as well on the counter attack part. 🙂
it’s not about possession football or counter attacking. do you understand the concept of a high defensive line?.
barca lines up their team very high up the pitch, they cramp the opponent in their own half. restricting their opponents movements and build up play. while trying to keep possession as much as possible. there is much more to barca’s midfield than short and through passes. the space is very low and they have to keep the ball at all costs. while the opponent usually parks the bus heavily. kovacic would never work there. hove you seen kovacic’s style of play? he thrives on doing through ball behind the defense it’s a 1/5 chance it goes right but at barca they consider that wasteful.
Thanks for the elaboration. 🙂
that mean i convinced you ? 😛
Not so sure.. But I appreciate your elaboration and opinion. 🙂
Gnouk has just arrived inter in 2014-15 season, and his first appearance was early this year. It is hard to say how much influence we brought to him for the second half of 2014. But he is a talent, although, I dont see him as big as kovacic could become. Good thing is that mancini like him. and after selling kova, thohir urged to tell inter fan that we have other prospects, which is a sign that he will get some chance here.
He is another prospect and just 18 y/o.
Kovacic itself still need to proof himself at Madrid, but the chance for him to win the title in Spain is 50-50. In Spain, its either Barca or Madrid who will win the title. If Atletico played superb and both of Madrid and Barca got problem in consistency, then there will be chance for Atletico.
We can see that Gnou have a good passing range, but not good dribbling skills like Kova. You can see his passing range in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9v4KwmXOi0
DIfferent type of player IMO, but one thing gnou impressived me is that he has a big heart which is an important factor to survive in inter. Really hope he can develop into similar type as viera. I think He needs to be more aggressive
That’s true.. Kova and Gnou is a different player. I like his attitude,
Nice write up, but i gotta to disagree. Technnical issue like wrong placement or not suitable playing style issue etc or worst the famous FFP is just another media distortion, it’s all have been planned. The point is Kovacic sells really determine our brand image as a club.
Its quite normal that a lot of F word came out from situation, this devastating news still spread even not in related article.
From the one who was excited to welcome new season until this week. :/
Hello.. Yes, we can see from the media framework as well to argue. But, I think we cannot put a side that economy structure in Seri A is really bad. We got a low attendance level, traditional management, low infrastructure (own stadium), and bad internationalization. Its all because Rubentus and some other teams ruin Seri A integrity by calciopoli. It takes time to retain the integrity. Therefore, we based the balance on the seasonal ticket and sell-buy players.
On Kova, I think its really simple that he is not suit to Seri A. The same reason for Shaqiri. In Seri A, sometimes we just need to create to chances to create two goals. In other words, the game is closed and the tactical aspect is more important.
Yes, I understood. Yet, its still on the preparation level and the re-arrangement of squad. I think we can judge after the competition is started or when the competition already run till January. We got a bad preparation match, but that’s the only room for mancini to explore tactical and formation, before the formal competition begin. Other than that, we still assume that we will have a bad campaign by the transfer policy that Inter made. Let’s see how we played in the next following weeks.
Well, we can argue a lot of thing. But, its nice to have a discussion. 🙂
this is mancini’s and thohir’s last chance of redemption. if inter fail to qualify for cl. we’re basically fucked. and end up selling some of our players.
I still don’t blame thohir that much. Mancini and aussilo probably convinced him that by selling kova they can make a better team (which in my opinion is utter nonsense) and him seeing how the sale actually covers future expenses jumped at the opportunity
i don’t care about kovacic. it’s all on mancini. how he wanted width and brought shaqiri, poodolski, jovetic despite non of them being a natural wide player. and how he delt with montoya and santon. does he even chose the players……..
and how he wants to play a possession based system while playing three defensive midfielders. this season could be a disaster.
i just don’t understand how we wanted to loan perisic before. and even after we get thirty freaking five million, we still want a loan. it’s just baffling to me.
Eto’o and Pandev is not a pure natural wide player either.
in a 4-2-3-1 they can play.
new guy here? never seen you before 🙂
I followed this website for a long time since 2013 when I was in Sweden, and just decide to join on the discussion.
Yes indeed they are striker and 2nd striker
voodoo… must be voodoo
Thohir recruited so many people in this club both on and off the field, he practically saved inter with balancing inters books and becoming more international. I can’t believe how short-sighted some interista are here, so freaking what if kovacic left, he isn’t suited for serie a I have said this before. I believe he is more suited in la liga or premier league, he went through three different coaches and still feels lost. What I will be pissed about is if the money used from the sale will be used on a player that does not meet quality needed for champions league spot.
Thank you, I don’t blame the president -the guy is changing management while balancing the books -people think this is football manager lol
Exactly, I don’t understand why.
I got the same though. I think Kova will shine in more open playing league like premier league. Its clear that Thohir bring structural change, and every structural change need time for us to see effect and benefit. You can get the effect of structural change in a minute, that’s only happen in Football manager.
Tohir is not to be blamed after all he’s our savior from Shitty Branca.
Nah thohir is the wind in our venis
I am one of them who is freaking LOL..but maybe not just because kova, but pissed of because for our incapability to sell or load useless players off. We sold him instead
Nonsense we will blow the wads of cash on dambrosios brother and recreate a filippini bros setup. I can feel a positive gust coming our way.
Since Pirlo, coutinho and kovacic were leaving.. It would be possible if the other youngster like Icardi and Gnoukouri will be gone as you guys can see that Inter have bad record on how they treat the young players and not trusting them as well as doesnt give more playing time because they dont want to take a risk and prefer to buy or trust 25-32 years old players. Therefore, if the good offers arrive then Inter will sell them with giving the reason about FFP in order to balance their income and expenses to the media
Yes, that a make sense worried. Yet, we already try to use some young player in Strama era, and it not end up well. The best way is to combine the young with the experience one.
True.. I am agree with u
It probably means that he will sell him by the end of the week. Jbga kume opasan taj FFP kojim se jedino Inter opterećuje.
thohir are u trying hard or u are hardly trying???
FUCK YOU FUCKING ASIATIAN GARBAGE!
yes. fucking useless president.
yeah, by now i know your vocabulary is limited to sexual intercourse words and all kinds of excrement. No need to make yourself look stupid, i’m saying.
Mind your language please. Careful.
fucking racist twat
Hey you cockfucker
I have deep respect for Thohir, for all the hard work he has done. But I’m seriously disappointed, because he admitted that we will build our future team around our talented youngsters like Kovacic! And he spit on his own words! I don’t wanna listen more statements about our youngsters!
Gnoukouri is not Kovacic, but he is a talented young player. I think, Inter already try their best in looking to utilize Kova in the squad. Its failed because of various reasons that we can argue, but the fact is that Kova haven’t give a big contribution yet during his time at Inter.
Yes. Now we build around kondogbia, murrello, gnokori and Icardi…
Yes, let’s see..
This kid will become something special. He has the attitude and work ethic. I truly feel like he will get a ton of playing time this year. Oddly enough, he will replace Kovacic. Instead of Kova’s penetrating runs, Gnou makes those type passes. I would have loved to see Kova, Kond and Gnou grow together, but Kond and Gnou with Medel supporting will be a strong midfield in the near future. Guarin, Brozo and Hernanes will keep the pressure on so players are fighting for minutes.
Yes, his attitude to keep growing is fascinating. Hope he retain that, even if he change into a great player. I love to see Gnoukouri passing range. He can pass a long ball well enough. There’s a lot of room to grow for him.
Pedro,mkhitaryan,moura,salah,goetze,perisic is a dream… damn it..
Your comment is funny.. gnou is grow and become star.. then u sell him like kova at 21 years old. Don’t happen again.. we are not mediocre club..
Oh we are a mediocre club, dude. What part of us aren’t? We just aren’t willing to accept the fact because of our long and successful history.
he said “we are not mediocre club”. do you even read. retard.
but we are a mediocre club sir. Please, will you read my comment once more before exploding like a mongoloid?
i don’t know what that is. but in case it’s an insult, than fuck you asshole.
oh god, can you at least just be silent if you cant be nice? youre showing everyone what you are made of friend. enough name calling please
ok.
Do you feel the need for me to explain it word by word in order for you to catch my drift, Mr. most polite tongue, sir?
look who’s talking. you name called me as well, you weirdo. two wrongs don’t make a right.
The case of a young man with serious issues of impoliteness and cognitive impairment.
fuck you bitch. what’s your problem. this is cyber bullying. leave me alone.
A little cognitive test != cyber bullying, young man. A little air could do your brain some good, I think, Until then, i’m not going to leave you alone.
As for the other denizens of this site, please forgive me and this young man for polluting it.
agreed. very good point. such a well written comment.
fyi, != means not equal to
good for you. now leave me alone.
funny comment on something about reading plus retard word in addition
there is a difference between read and spelling. retard.
Thohir. You …..!! How much you expect gonna to get from this kid next summer?
Good Question
Lets hope he will contribute on the field.
so..so.. and don’t sell him if it’s true… f*** those FFP rules
It will be interesting if there is an investigation on how FFP rules effect on various league in Europe. I think, Seri A have a tough consequences since the level supporter attendance is low, the existing traditional management, low club infrastucture (own stadium), and the challenge of internationalization (bring english in inter channel, etc). Its hard then for make a revenue as the foundation of modern football. We can see Manchester United for example. They change sponsorship easily, while we got Pirelli for years now.
However, the management strategy on trying to capture the supporter in worldwide is good enough. One of the Inter strength is the amount of supporter in the world wide. If we can maximize this, before go for other foundation. Then, we can have a solid base for revenue.
Chelsea are reportedly close to sign pedro. I hope it will push mou to let cuadrado to leave for a loan with right to redeem. Juventus are reportedly try to snatch him, but hopefully Mancini can use his special skills and guarin anf murillo might help. Cuadrado is what we really need upfront, he’s also very versatile.
forget about it. we already used our two non-EU spots.
I forgot about that… damn…
yeah. lol, i’m a bit surprised we’re not looking into the french and dutch league. we can’t settle for perotti….
Lazio is one great example when they get Vrij last season and now they get Khrisna
Oh my, thanks for the information @jackabood:disqus 🙂
Really? You mean there is no way to bring him here this August?
yes.
Wow totally forget about that. Shitshitshit
manccini special skills…..LOL bullshit….money talks…
you can say alot of things about mancini but everybody can’t deny he persuading skills.
sorry! i don’t believe i everything what medi says…no one can’t prove that some player sign for club only because of manccini if he have better contract on tabel…
when player come to anyone club, they have default storry for media,
example:
1) i always want to play for inter…when i was a boy, i watch inter on tv and may dream was be to play for inter…now dream comes true…
2) coach (i our case manccio) is, of course, the reason why i sign with inter …
3) i dont come here because of money….
just bullshit for media….same like FFP…if you have money you can do anything 🙂
we all must know that football if first of all JUST BUSINESS.
too long;didn’t read.
also kondogbia accepted a lower offer from inter because he wanted to work with mancini.
how du you know?
There is still a hope to sign cuadrado even its difficult. Clichy, perotti and cuadrado are enough to reach 3rd spot or scudetto if Inter consistent this season
read @jackabood:disqus ‘s comment.
Gnoukouri – Kondogbia as starter? Bring it on salah, pogba, callejon, bacca !!!! It wont be as easy as lord kuz – medel.
I really liked gnoukori – let’s hope they don’t push him out
don’t get too attached to him.
next year you’ll be crying on sempreinter because the incompetent idiot thohir sold him!!!
Let’s relief pressure from his shoulder. Give him space to grow. We can demand a high performance on player like Jovetic or Miranda. They are more mature and already established themselves as top players.
I’m expecting him to be a bench player this season actually but I really want to see him as a starter
Lets see, its fascinating season. 🙂
He hasn’t helped the team yet. I hope he become a starter, but I highly doubt he’d be granted trust when Hernanes and Guarin are healthy.
Let’s hope he shine this season.
Let’s hope we aren’t “forced” to sell him in 2 years as well.
