Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke to Spanish radio Cadena Ser about the recently closed transfer windows and the signing of Mateo Kovacic:
“Rafa Benitez told me about him, he knew him from having had him as an opponent in the serie A. Modric told us as well that he is a phenomenon to confirm it. With the arrival of the Croatian (Kovacic) we have tried to improve our bench.”
Words from the president that even though they might be true might not be appreciated by the former Inter player.

They bought kaka €80m only for improve their bench, so when they bought Kova to improve their bench, they should pay more…
kaka was not to improve their bench.. he was sign to be a regular first team, but he got hernia and a lot of injuries in madrid.. that’s why his perfomance decline a lot and become a bench player.. kaka was fifa player of the year though..
Kova was mainly bought by Madrid as an investment for the future, so no surprise if he will ride the bench a lot in the beginning.Up to himself to grab his chance.
I just feel a bit sorry for Kova ending up at Madrid when Benitez is coach.
Expect Madrid to have the worst season in years, and as usual Benitez will blame everyone but himself.
madrid rarely invest on young player.. if they said for bench, usualy it’s how it is.. i really doubt kova would got his opportunity.. i mean look at their midfield.. if kova barely an important player for inter, what would happen to him in madrid!?
Of course with his current form, he will be a squad player there. Nothing wrong with what Perez said. Benitez likes to rotate players.

Florentino Perez and his arrogance is well known. Lucky us we don’t have such a pain in the back like him as our president. I hope Modric gets injured, so Kova will get his playing time there.

We should really hope for the best for him, cause its also related to how much money we get from RM. i believe there’s a clause that stated that Kova should play 40 games for us to get 3-5M.
perez is one of the worst president i ever see.. the way he treat his staff and player is jaw dropping(in the bad way).. del bosque, capelo, ancelotti, hierro, raul, casillas and many more was the example of how bad is perez as a human and as a president o a football club.. hope kova find his way out there next season..
that’s very rude and may affect the player, truth to be told he is very young and unmature for Real Madrid , even for Inter he can’t secure a starting postition with the players we have now, although i’m not denying his talent but the team needs more , the team needs an effective player with winning mentality a player who can win matches on his own (i.e jovetic) and he simply ain’t got it.

Kind of sad for his future, to be an reinforcement for the bench. It was a good move for us but he should have pushed for a team in which he would be a starter. But then again, such teams wouldn’t offer us €35m.
