Luciano Spalletti, interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke about the ambitions for the season for Nerazzurri: “Inter, after the transfer market conducted by the club, must accept the challenge of the Scudetto. Favourites, no. Roma is strong. Very strong. They have a midfield of global significance and have made important signings on offense, and don’t presume Juve is dead. But Inter can’t hide. Mancini has used the six months of last season to begin his work of selection, he did the tests. A nice benefit. Not everything was thrown away. Icardi became the top scorer and is a real bomber. A perfect place to start. And alongside him, Mancini has signed a real top player, Jovetic. The Montenegrin has quality, physical strength, the right personality for a great team. Starting from this pair, Inter can’t pull back and has to think about the Scudetto. If I would say they have the advantage of not playing in the European Cups? I don’t think that is in Inter’s favor. In fact, with teams this important, playing in Europe helps a coach.”
