Interviewed by Corriere dello Sport, Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta commented on the negotiations with Inter for the purchase of Hernanes: “We had learned of the opportunity to get to the Brazilian and contacted the leadership of Inter. They were open to negotiate despite the fact that the operation generated a capital loss for Inter in the budget. Relations between the two clubs have always been good. There were rumors that Inter no longer wanted to sell players to Juventus and instead, thanks to the sale of Hernanes to us, has perhaps been able to buy a couple more players.”
On the fight for the Scudetto: “AC Milan, Inter, Roma and Napoli have good teams and are candidates to the victory with us. The Nerazzurri have had the best transfer market? The real judgments will be made on the pitch. Not now, but in December… Inter has made moves on the transfer market with several entrances and exits, but we have a hard core that has given us great satisfaction.”
