When Diego Costa left the pitch in the 35th minute in the second half and Neymar came on, Brazil captain Miranda gave Neymar the captain’s armband. The gesture was of course noted by Brazilian media and commented upon. Inter’s defender Miranda had this to say about this:
“Neymar is a leader in our national team. We need to give him the responsibilities a great player deserves. We talked about it in the dressing room, I knew that he was coming on and I told him that he deserved the armband.”
