Inter’s central defender, João Miranda, arrived just before noon at the Humanitas clinic for medical tests after the injury suffered when his Brazil faced USA. The results from these tests will determine whether the defender will be able to play in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.
According to reports by Il Corriere dello Sport earlier this morning, the derby is at serious risk for Miranda: “Inside the club the concern is palpable and no one wanted to say too much. Moreover, it would be impossible, not being able to directly assess the conditions of the joint and having to rely only on the player’s words. Only now, however, the situation will be clearer. But it is likely that the Brazilian is forced to miss the match against AC Milan.”
Who will take his place? The Rome daily sees Ranocchia as a favorite, with Juan Jesus playing on the left again: “Throwing Telles into the mix right away is a great temptation, but it might be risky to let too many players debut (there are also Perisic, Felipe Melo and Ljajic) in a race as delicate as the derby.”
