Inter’s official website inter.it took the chance to speak to Inter legend Karl Heinz Rummenigge before Sunday’s game vs historic rival Juventus. Current Bayern Münich CEO Kalle is still fondly remembered by Inter fans after his 3 seasons at the Meazza and he still follows the nerazzurri.

Inter and the nerazzurri fans have always spoken very highly of you. What does that mean to you?

“I’ve always had a lovely relationship with the Inter fans. It is a shame I could not win an important title when I was an Inter player because the fans deserved that. They were very good with me. When I visit Milan I still feel their affection. In September I celebrated my birthday in Crotone, and even there I was greeted by many interisti. I will never forget them – we have a fantastic relationship.”

Do you keep in touch with any of your former Inter teammates?

“Yes, every now and then. I have seen Walter Zenga and I am pleased that he has become a quality coach. I have also spoken to Spillo (Alessandro Altobelli). I also follow Andrea Mandorlini because I often run into Luca Toni and he tells me how things are going in Italy. I also have a very good relationship with former Inter president Pellegrini who I saw in Berlin at the Champions League final last season.”

Kalle also speaks about the current Inter side under Roberto Mancini and says they are a side that could compete for the scudetto. Read the full interview over at https://www.inter.it/en/news/49373 it is worth a read.
