Roma’s Lucas Digne was asked about his French national team mate Geoffrey Kondogbia who has had a tough start in the serie a. The French Inter midfielder has high expectations on him since arriving for a 31 million euro’s fee in summer.
“Kondogbia who is a friend of mine is a great player and he will show it here in Italy as well”, said Digne to Sky Sport when being interviewed regarding the coming game on Saturday between Inter and Roma.

He moved from, in due respect, Ligue 1 to Serie A, with lots of money and to one of the big club. Of course he needs to adapt/settle with it. BUT, albeit of his age, this is modern football. Patient is a rare thing. So please, Mister K, speed up your game, literally, please!!!
anyone know how much Digne cost? so I can know why Inter not try to get him than Montoya
you know, our most newly signed young players had struggled in their first year. Maybe we should wait more and put more trust in them
Agreed. Plus he needs to adapt to a different kind of role.
I can’t remember who said this, I think it was stankovic, Anywho he said that kondogbia in particular needs few months to settle. (Looked for the article couldn’t find it)
In any case it makes sense because the player comes into a new league with different style and tactics. Therefore, I think he just needs some time to adjust to the league, training system, tactics and his role to the team. Also, let’s not forget he changed his role that his used to from a defensive to more central/attacking midfielder.
Sure, he doesn’t play like a professional whom Inter paid a chunk of money. He’s damn too sloppy and lacks precision. In fact, I,m highly disappointed in him. His problems are many; he can’t pass ball accurately, and he’s easily beaten to it. He lacks stability, stumbling and falling on the ground easily. No coach would have time to teach him the basics in soccer. Honestly, Kovacic is far better than that guy, Kova can dribble, retain the ball and pass accurately, Inter could have kept him, rather than go for this Kondogba of a guy. This is one of those mistakes of Mancini.
You got it all wrong. There was no mistake from Mancini. Mancini wanted a big guy and he got a big physical guy.
kova were mediocare at his best.. i’m glad we release him with his price.. because he’s not worth it… did you see how he played in madrid!? most of the time he dissapeared.. k-dog is better player than kova..
You are wrong bro, kova is great he is the combination of xavi and iniesta,we shouldnt let him go,same to shaqiri, he will be the next messi,it is all mancini’s fault, lolll
You got your fact wrong.. Kondo has 87.1 percent pass accuracy, only second to medel in midfield (about 90 percent), got 1.7 clean tackle per game (again second to medel in midfield), and 2 dribbles per game the highest of any player at Inter. Look at the stat, he nd medel are the most effective midfielder we have. He was only missing the “wow” moment, the spark that justify his potential. Otherwise, Pogba have it, people like to see when he scores from outside of penalty area. That the only thing Pogba could do, but people say he was the most promising talent in the world.
where did you get that stats from? cause Jojo dribles and most likely recieves a foul every time he gets the ball, and this guy just loose too many balls.
When he arrived I though ohh God the new Pogba, but I was so wrong, some people says that he requires time- but well our best game in the season was without him-
Please dont compare kondogbia to that overrated pogba,
Whoscored
he certainly isn’t right now. Everyone was excited when he came but mostly they were excited because we “took him from Milan” not because how good of a player he is. That was me for sure. Seeing him fail to do the basic things like a pass-back or controling incoming balls is very painful to watch.
Maybe he proves his worth but for me: he was never a 30m player!!! Not in Monaco not in Sevilla…. We are massively overpaying for a bunch of unproven talents. Where there is a sea of great PROVEN talents. could’ve been better had we focused on our own goals instead of stealing milan’s targets for the sake of it……
Finally agree with you lol. If I hadn’t known about the transfer, I would’ve guessed he’s valued at 13-15m at max. On the bright side brozovic is improving a lot lately.
If only we bought allan …..*sigh*
LOL you guys are clueless.
Explain how he’s clueless? Allan is a very good player and has been doing well with napoli.
sorry but allan is million times better than kondogbia, and he was available for a cheaper price and he is already serie a proven.
side note: i believe kondogbia is a good investment and he will definetly need time
I guy will be a beast. I have faith.
Well kondogbia was in a team that reached to the quarter finals of champions league and nonetheless, It’s too early to judge now. I agree so far he hasn’t been living up to the price paid for him, but give him time.. Many players of high calibr took time to settle, even Gareth bale a major star took time to settle in Madrid.. Even Luis Suarez.. All I’m saying is he needs time to settle not only in a league also in a new role.
