Erick Thohir arrived in Milan from the US early yesterday morning and has had 24 intense Inter hours with several meetings. There was also another summit with Massimo Moratti, writes Tuttosport.
“A work lunch where once again they discussed Moratti’s decision to sell his 29,5% of Inter.”
The Indonesian tycoon does not want to buy them himself, he is conviced that a strong local partner is needed (just as he has at DC United which he owns with Jason Levien). The Moratti family still want to sell though, which they expressed 19 October.
“The parties will meet again soon for updates on the matter, also due to the fact that should Moratti insist then a new investor would need to be found. An investor who would have to take on a big part of the club but still stay a minority partner (it is possible that Moratti could find the new partner, seeing he has good contacts in the Arab world considering the Oil family business).

We could only speculate at this point. Rumor has it that Moratti willing to sever its tie with Inter since financially he couldn’t contribute anything substantial to the team. Rumor has it….
Could it be that the financial situation for the Moratti family is not as good as it once were? And selling their shares of Inter would not only free up some money, but also they would not have to contribute perhaps with money to Inter themselves anymore.
Probably that, and the current positive state of the club probably made Moratti family wouldn’t want to linger too long for knowing they would leave their favorite club in the more capable hands of Thohir and co.
Do not think that’s the reason considering the major sum they hot when they sold their huge Ollie company to the Russians a couple of years ago!

Yes that’s the news I was referring to, but it says that the Russians brought shares for Euro 178,498,510 in the company and that the Moratti’s sold their personal shres for 6mill each! That’s quite a lot of money that have earned I guess, plus of cause Thohir bought alot of M.Moratti’s shares in Inter a couple og months later, for a lot of money. So I don’t think he needs money!
I simply think that even if that number seems amazingly high for us regular people, for a historically wealthy guy like Moratti it could perhaps seem just to be a reasonable wealth he has gained from selling some of his shares in Saras and the majority of them in Inter. Perhaps Saras has not given good returns to the Moratti family last couple of years, I think I read something about that when he first started talking with those from China who wanted to invest in Inter. Perhaps the costs from covering the costs in Inter every year, had finally put his families financial situation in a bad status. Or perhaps he simply wanted to cash out to give both Inter a fresh start and also the next generation in the Moratti families. As they will probably have to spend a lot of time managing the families wealth and Saras.
I think Moratti wanted to sell all of his shares at the first place. But his love for Inter prevented it, because he wanted to make sure that Tohir will not toy with Inter. The proof of my point is the buyback clause he inserted when selling to Tohir.
Now that Inter is doing well, he has a peace of mind to sell the rest of his shares.
Arab money huh…. I’ll keep my expectation low, since minority share and the league itself isn’t one to attract a lot of potential sugar-daddies.
Bring an arab who is Willing to invest 100 mil Per summer in transfers!!!
