Gian Piero Gasperini was interviewed by Sky after the game. Here is what he had to say.

“I am satisfied with Genoa’s game; it was probably on a superior level when it comes to creating chances than Inter. We conceded a goal on a free-kick, but in the second half the game was ours. The difference compared to the other years? It was odd before, it was not normal for Genoa to arrive up there. We are not a big team like Inter, Milan or Juve. The episode with Carpi has taken a toll on us but we did well today. I think the fight in the top will be very tight. Inter have diverse characteristics compared to Napoli, Fiorentina, Roma and Juventus. Maybe at the end Milan will also be in a tighter fight than we have seen in these last years.”

About the conceded goal:

“It is true, we were too low. The intention is to always keep the line high but maybe this time we wera afraid of giving up the offside.”

Could Perotti play as a “finto nueve” instead of Gakpé? What shape is Pandev in?

“As for Perotti I say that it could happen, we have tried it. Tonight we played like this seeing as Inter fielded four offensive players. ARegaridng Pandev, he has not been very lucky but today he entered well. Last year he had a lot of problems, then he had difficulties in the beginning and he missed a few goals. Then between injuries and bans he just got back last week. He can give us an important hand.”
