Roberto Mancini analyzed the match to Sky after his Inter beat Genoa at Meazza with 1-0.

“We are glad to have won 1-0, it’s a great thing because Genoa aren’t an easy task, They run a lot and doesn’t give away many chances. But we played a great game and the difficulties started after not been able to score during the first half. We didn’t make any changes because the players responded perfectly. We are top of the table for tonight and I can’t see a motive to change that would let everyone get a chance to play. Maybe later we’ll find the starting eleven”.

How do you explain Ljajic’s transformation?

“Nothing to explain, He’s very valuable, which he once demonstrated in both Rome and Florence and he can do even more. We are happy, he’s doing very well”.

Jovetic and Icardi are almost never playing together, why?

“I coach Inter and not just those two. We are lucky to have valuable players which can give them a match for a starting position. They can play together, but I don’t see a problem that Mauro is on the bench twice in fifteen matches. He’s central striker like everyone else. We know that the goals must come to reach a Champions League position especially from him and he knows it as well. However that doesn’t exclude that he would be on the bench a couple of times”.

The tactical choices..

“In the first half they four in front were good and the only thing we lacked was the goal. We should have scored at least a couple”.

Miranda and Murillo were a wall today…

“They made a perfect game, even if they need to improve a level of positioning. Against Napoli they were a bit surprised over the immediate  goal, but they got better during the game”

What happened with Melo?

“He got subbed, he didn’t remember anything but he wanted to re-enter the pitch, He wanted to start the second half as well but we preferred to change him”.

How do you see about the offside whistle on Ljajic after 1-0?

“From the bench it seemed right”.
