Javier Zanetti was interviewed by Sky Sport in Nyon and the former Inter captain commented on the draw of the Champions League: “If I felt like an Interista at that moment? I always feel like an Interista, then I must say that in this draw there are so many interesting matches. There are teams with great tradition, we will see what will happen. Juventus has been growing with each game lately, with Bayern they can play on equal terms. In Europa League there are three complicated challenges for the Italian teams, but they can all play even with all of them.”

Zanetti then added: “I hope to see Inter in the Champions League again next year as a protagonist. Being without the Champions League is difficult for us, but there are grounds to try until the end of the season. We are used to playing this competition for the history and tradition of the club.”

On the outcome of yesterday’s meeting between Juventus and Fiorentina: “We knew that Juve could win, but we will still have to fight even with Napoli, Roma and Fiorentina, it’s an even league. The real opponent in the fight for the title? Today I say Napoli and Juventus, who have the squads to get to the end. I’m not surprised by the rise of Juventus, they had to get their moment after the bad start. But there are many games left.”

Who is the symbol of the first placed Inter? “I think the team as a whole is doing well, with humility and strength. If I have to say a name I will say Joao Miranda, who along with Jeison Murillo has given strength to the defense. Not to mention Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus; if we suffer a little they will have great opportunities, but there is still very much left.”
