Roberto Mancini commented on his team’s performance to Rai Sport after they lost on penalties to Juventus: “It was a good game. I’m very happy, I want to compliment all the boys, they were fantastci, I’m sorry for them because we deserved to go through to the final. Inter were top of the league for 18 matches and then they criticized us, then we started losing and everyone criticized us. We have to work, we’ve lost many points and we’re sorry for this.
“Sunday was a evenly balanced match, it was changed by an unfortunate mistake. We had on good chance in the first half through Icardi and they had theirs through Hernanes shot. We didn’t deserve to lose. This is my Inter? We’re doing what we can, we’re sorry for the lost points but this is football. This can happen due to reasons where you don’t make the best of the situation, I hope that this match gives us awareness and strength that we can reach the third spot.”
“I expect that after this loss on penalties that the team becomes aware of the qualities that we have and that if we are concentrated the way we were tonight then we can win many points. We are a team that is trying to build something, sometimes you go through difficult moments. Just like all teams we always look to do our best, sometimes things go well and others they don’t go so well. We have 11 matches left to play, we hope to continue like this. We startted conceding goals very easily, sometimes it was also down to back luck. After tonight I think we can do well and continue like this on Sunday against Palermo.”
Then Mancini commented briefly on his choice of central defender: “We’ve worked with D’Ambrosio in this position for quite some time. It wasn’t exactly improvised, we knew that we had two more players that could play in that position. Kondogbia’s condition isn’t serious but he’s at the hospital undergoing tests just to be safe. Eder is a great player, played really well tonight, he’s a bit unlucky right now but he will starts corign soon.”
Finally a comment on the conclusion of the league: “We can’t make any more mistakes. Sunday is an important match. Now we have Palermo and Bologna at home, these are all matches to be played. If we play like we did tonight then we can reopen the discussion regarding finishing third.”

Aha, Mancio, it is partly your fault. You must have had the balls to attack and play like grande Inter and take it to the opponents. We lost so many matches to even the bottom table teams, just because you tried to concentrate on your defense. They did a fantastic job for 18 matches, but you didn’t do enough with the forwards. Never mind, at least we hope you continue in this vein and finish 3rd at least.

This is an awesome Inter tonight. Since the
season, I have never see
these guys play like this.The make shift defense was nothing but
flawless tonight. I never believed Inter will easily cancel the 3-0
deficit, let alone coming very close to carry the day But fore the
penalty miss by Palacio, it would have been a huge upset against
Juventus. That was a sterling performance by Inter. It should be noted
most of
the guys that played today are not regulars due Mancini’s rampant changeof
formations. If these guys are made to play together for a while, they will play
with great understanding/cohesion and I bet you Inter will attain the pinacle of glory
once more , and champions league will be tenable. So, congrats guys, more
grease to your elbows. I duff my hat to players like Perisic, Brozovic,
Nagatomo, Bbibianey, d’Ambrisio, JJ and others for their awesome performance Keep it up
