What if Inter decide to steal Domenico Berardi from Juventus? The question comes from Corriere dello Sport in which they outline a scenario where the nerazzurri try to come between Juventus and Sassuolo. Juventus have a right to buy Berardi for 25 million euros from Sassuolo.
Now, Juventus have a clear advantage, but it is not sure that the player or Sassuolo president Squinzi would be happy to see Berardi go to Juventus. Squinzi has stated several times that nothing is set yet, likely in the hope of getting higher offers.
Should Berardi want to play regularly, Inter would be a better option. Not forgetting the economic aspect , should they go for him cash will be needed. Maybe selling Stevan Jovetic for 15 million and not redeeming Adem Ljajic for 11 million. A youngster could also be included in the deal with Sassuolo. A deal could be made, if Juventus lets it happen.

Ljajiz has earned and deserves a spot on our squad nxt year.
Imagine this trio behind Icardi
Perisic-Ljajic-Berardi
Daaaaamn
Chrismas F***king eve!
Daammn good idea, and don’t forget we still have Eder, Palacio, Biabiany as a supersub.
Hard to say this but this actually might benefit Juve, just by locking the player, they can control Inter activity on transfer market.
The main point is Juve has the first option to buy this player (based on the contract). So is this another Mohamed Salah’s case? We should hope Berardi reject Juve and join Inter
its different, Juve has an option to buy him back at 25m. that means they are the 1st in line for him, even if we offer 35m. but, i can easily imagine they buy him for 25, and try to auction him off for 30+
he would be a great addition, but depending on how we finish the season, i’d say a 11m Ljajic might be better, than a 25+ Berardi
Thohir either needs to get those investors quick or just do Inter a favor and sell the team to someone with much more money. He’s not necessarily a bad President, but I think he just came at the wrong time. I’m not sure he was completely aware of how much debt Inter was in, and how much money you need to spend at a club that has aspirations as big as Inter’s. Inter have a serious opportunity to start building a great team again in the next couple of seasons with Serie A’s new and young talent starting to blossom, and Jube can’t buy everyone, so Inter are bound to get some good players, we just need the money to buy them!
unfortunetly, it doesnt work like that. FFP is the problem, not Thohir’s wallet, and to play by UEFA’s rules, we need to generate high income aswell. CL would be the 1st step, but the biggest influence on our economic situation would be an own stadium. that is the key to everything
im really glad how Thohir started to reform the management, taking things towards the 21st century, but as long as he won’t get an own stadium for us, i cant take him seriously
what exactly do you mean by “it doesnt work like that”? As you stated, “CL would be the 1st step, but the biggest influence on our economic situation would be an own stadium. that is the key to everything.” How do you expect to fund a team with enough quality to make CL and to build a new stadium without spending more money?
tell that to the ffp committee
it means Thohir cant splash cash on players without covering those expenses (in 3 consecutive fiscal years the maximum loss of a team cant exceed 30m euros)
the options are a, selling our most valuable players to make money for new signings or b, generating high income. but to generate that income, CL is a MUST (rather knockout round) and the stadium can give the stability
i dont make the rules man, UEFA does
Exactly, Thohir needs to be able to cover those expenses! UEFA isn’t applying FFP rules to teams like Real Madrid, who currently have a transfer record of nearly -70 Mill. €, because they know that Perez can cover those costs. Same case with PSG, who at one point actually had net debt, granted only -1 Mill. €, but still debt nonetheless, and were still allowed a transfer record of over -90 Mill. € because Al-Khelaifi can cover those costs. Inter’s current transfer record is currently slightly over +13 Mill. €, a dramatic difference between the previously mentioned clubs, yet we can’t “afford” to buy more players. Wouldn’t that point towards Thohir not being able or willing to spend the money needed, and not the FFP rules restricting specifically just Inter? UEFA is corrupt, that’s been made clear this past year, but why else would they specifically be this difficult on Inter alone and not the many other clubs in worse shape on paper?
yes, it is mostly as you say, but while those teams can cover (even turn into profit) those 50-70-100m euros yearly transfers, we cant. and Thohir just cant put in the missing money to the bank, because it is againts the rules. the TEAM has to generate the missing money by winning, reaching CL, selling merchandise, tickets, etc to break-even on the balance sheet
ps: Real Madrid kept Kaka on their squad, even when he didnt play, because only on the Asian market he generated tens of millions of euros by selling his jersey. so imagine how much Ronaldo generates for them every year – not to mention the rest of their squad
So essentially, all these bigger teams are blatantly cheating the system, but are suffering zero consequences? That’s fair lol couldn’t Thohir do the same thing with Mahaka Media? Just make it our sponsor and fund the club’s transfers thru that?
Supposedly Real Madrid recovered Ronaldo’s transfer fee within a week of his jersey sales, so you’ve definitely got a point there. Inter have good players, but we don’t have any of the biggest names, so I’d assume mostly only Inter fans are buying their jerseys, which although small, is definitely part of the problem.
well, cant say for all, but PSG and City do that for sure thru the middle-eastern connection (if im right thats why PSG had to pay 50m euros last year tho, so theres consequences). i dont know if PSG owns their stadium, but City certainly does, so theres that too – and the market value of these teams skyrocketed aswell, and they get a shitload of money for the TV rights too (in Italy it is extremely low, especially compared to BPL)
ps: the thing why im worried, as i mentioned earlier, is that FFP doesnt regulate the money spent on infrastructure (stadium, youth academies, improving scouting network etc), so im still waiting for Thohir to do so. that would show real commitment
I think the big issue here is not just Inter, but Italian football as a whole. Serie A is still stuck in 1995 as far as shirt sponsorship, TV rights, and stadiums are concerned. Sassuolo have the best shirt sponsorship, Jube is the only top team to own their own stadium, Inter and Bilan still share a stadium, Roma and Lazio still share a stadium, and although everyone is behind the PL in TV rights, Serie A is especially far behind.
I’m worried about it too, especially considering the only infrastructure we really need to invest in is a stadium. Our youth academies and scouting networks are very good, arguably the best in Italy, but we have had no real movement on a stadium. First, we had plans to move, then we find out Bilan is moving, so we don’t move and try to renovate. Then Bilan decides they aren’t moving so we include them on the renovations, but they’re not interested. Now we’re seemingly making agreements towards renovations, but I think those are only minor renovations for the upcoming CL Final, nothing that would warrant significant changes in revenues..
exactly! same thoughts! people always try building walls, blaming things when they cant do anything. FFP is the blame thing for us, does FFP happen to PSG or Manchester City? NO!
our incomes our nowhere near close to those teams’, let alone match tickets or merchandise-wise. BUT their owners use a loophole that allows them to give financial boosts to their team via sponsorship (they are shareholders (maybe even owners) in the companies that sponsor them)
Sassuolo does the exact same thing, the owner owns both Sassuolo and MAPEI, thats why they got a better sponsorship deal than we do with Pirelli
Thanks for the logical respond
my god, how on earth could Inter raise 15m by selling Jovetic, if he is not even an Inter player yet? after paying City next winter(!), thats break-even at best
Let Jovetic go, either Ljajic or Perisic will have to go next yr (if no CL), we should have never bought Eder, and also shouldn’t have resigned Palacio (even though I like him).
and yet people still think thohir is good and we have a good project.. LOL!
He is not pricey and he is Inter fan. He is in our reach, but only if he prefers us. Than Jube is fucked
just sell the two clowns Icardi and palacio and let our attack be jojo berrardi…
Jojo is prone to injury, i still prefer Icardi..
berardi is the dream and he is interista too .i dont have any problem with jojo sale if berardi comes but dont buy ljajic for 11 m is a crime …
Hell yes!! But Ljajic has to stay.
couldnt say more
I’m more than happy with him going, if this guy comes.
