Milan go for Mateo Kovacic. The order from Berlusconi is clear, a return to a diamond midfield. In oither words they need a trequartista and according to il Corriere dello Sport, Kovacic is the player they see as the one to raise the level of Milan next year.
”Considering the good relationship between Milan and Real Madrid, it could be enough to negotiate for a one year loan deal. This due to the fact that Real can’t really ask for a high selling price considering how little Kovacic has played this first year.”
Milan contacted Inter for Kovacic in summer, but got a no. Then the Croatian international was sold to Real, but now there is a chance to see him back in Milano but with the rossoneri.

That would be another slap in Inter’s face. They stole Bonaventura, signed Zelatan, Ronaldo, ruined our new stadium plans,.. When will Inter directors realize these bastards are not our friends?!!
Kovacic is a great talent, but it’s difficult to say where his best position is. He prefers to play as a regista, but his skill set dictates he should play as a trequartista. Mazzarri obviously had trouble figuring it out, neither could Rafa, and now Zidane doesn’t seem to be able to either. Personally, I think he should be given a free role, similar to Iniesta’s at Barce, where he can dictate play however he sees appropriate based on the play of the opposition, operating as a regista or trequartista at any given time. Is there a proper term for this type of player?
The Gullit.
stramacchioni found his place; regista in a 3-man midfield and where he would run the play, grabbing the ball deep, run to attacking positions and make a killer pass. imo the term is a mix of regista and trequartista, he is a player that in the future will define his very own role. a modern trequartista.
Agreed, Strama has definitely done the best job with Kovacic by far, but there was still something lacking. As much as I’d hate to admit it, it very well might’ve been the lack of talent around Kovacic because like Pirlo, the 5 defender formation seems to be ideal for a playmaker of that type. It truly pesters me to think about the impact Kova might’ve had on this Inter if he would’ve stayed, but what’s done is done. Hopefully, one day in the future, we could be reunited with Il Professore because I truly believe he is a player who belongs in the Nerazzurro, just under the right management next time
yes, i agree with that. a 5-def. formation and also with two defensive minded midfielders (i.e. 2 medel´s) might work. there was unfortunately much wrong positioning with him and especially guarin and other players. i hope he will do good as well
It would be very ugly… Our precious young gems ended up at milan..
Also i bet madrid wouldn’t sell him to barca..
I hope it’s not true.He could become Pirlo 2.0.
As i thought, milan always collect our waste. Poli, ballo, muntari..
our kova at bilan??? dont write shit!
