Mauro Icardi spoke to Inter Channel after scoring his 50th goal for Inter in the victory against Frosinone: “It was really a nice goal today, it was to make the round average. The goal gave us the possibility to bring the three points which is the most important thing for the team. It was a real striker movement, it was a fine goal but not the best because the one against Bologna at home was really beautiful to see. All goals are nice for a striker, each one counts, but the most important are the ones that bring the points to the team. Playing with Stevan today was very nice, we created a lot together, we found each other nicely, then he is a bit out of rhythm because of the injury and that has affected him, but now he has regained confidence and if we play well this is important also for team. I have a great relationship with Jovetic, he is a great player. I always encourage him because he is important for us.”

He has scored 14 goals this season and added 2 assists but if you look at the games in which he scores and assists you will see that his goals were decisive and brought us 19 points,he scored 5 times in 5 of our 1:0 victorys,added assist and a goal in our 3:1 victory against Palermo and even assisted for the only goal in our 1:1 draw with Sampdoria..
I always liked how he ussually scores 1 goal during the game but goes on to score in 15-20 different games during the season..he doesn’t score 5 goals in a game and then not score in next 5 games,last season he scored 22 goals and assisted 8 in 19 different matches during the season (That is only in Sereie A)..
His contribution is enormus for our team and i can’t understand why he is even being critisized,he is 23 years old he is still a kid and prone to having a bad game from time to time but can become only better as he gains experiance.
Solely because he can’t create chances for himself, ….. or maybe he can by chasing back passes to opponent goalkeepers. Then again, I’m pleased if he’s still with us and banging goals, but i also never against any views to sell him for big money.
He is not suposed to create cances you have 5 midfielders to do it he is there to score them,he is a striker a poacher whos main duty is to score goals and that is what he does,with time he might get better at that part of his game but he just need to keep finishing chances,that is what he is payed for..
