Roberto Mancini spoke to SkySport after the narrow win against Frosinone.
“We won and should have closed the first half 2-0, with a regular goal disallowed (scored by Biabiany, disallowed wrongfully) and other chance that we wasted due to missing the last pass. Many teams have struggled here at Frosinone, it is a great result.”
Melo and Jovetic?
“They did well. They struggled with time since they haven’t played for a long time, but they did well. Stevan has skills that can always change the game.”
Today, just like against Torino the team has struggled in the second half.
“We conceded two balls in the frame on set pieces, and I think it is ok to concede those chances. The problem is, and I repeat tp not score when you dominate. Then I hear talk about Inter not having a style of play and I want to laugh, unfortunately the truth is that we do noy score a lot and games can change in an instant. And actually today, in the first counter attack they hit the post.”
What about Icardi, who scores again. What can you say?
“He has always scored goals. He is young and can improve. But the goals he will always score.”
Now there is a base for next season, would one great signing give the team that final growth?
“For sure, also because the team is still young. There are some certainties and we can still grow. When you don’t reach the objectives everything seems negative, but this is not the case.”
Will money be needed, or will it be enough with intuition?
“Of course, but you never get to really know players until you train them. You don’t know if they can adjust to the league or the squad..The budget? It will be big”, says Mancini with a laugh.
