Joao Miranda made it clear in the past days that he has no intention to leave Inter.
“I don’t think about changing clubs right now, even without Champions League Inter is my home. I want to end this season well and to win titles with this shirt,” said the defender ro GloboEsporte.com. But his words do not stop the rumors. In the past we have often made the mistake of not selling our aging players. Eventually they leave our club for (close to) zero money. This is a concept that only the richest clubs can afford. If we want to become a big club again, we have to sell our players while they still have value and invest that money in promising talented players. Look at clubs like Atletico Madrid, where they let go Miranda while he still had some value, and gave a chance to a young central defender listening to the name of jose Gimenez. At this point they have a promising young player with a market value twice that of Miranda. This is the way to go for teams who don’t have the budget of teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Ofcourse I agree with everybody that Miranda leads our defense. But if we can make around 20 million for a player who when the season starts is aged 32, we should always cash in if we want to become a healthy club. Invest this money in two young promising players (Mammana and Izzo) and give them confidence.
Look at Murillo, we should learn from this and trust our scouting.
That’s a way to see it – I’m ok on selling Miranda if only if we have a Diego Godin to replace him on our bench… but we know we don’t have him and mate I don’t want to go back to the awful errors that we had in the back last season.
Let’s be honest, even with Miranda we probably won’t make the CL. Better give a young player with a rising market value a chance instead of a player we won’t get any money from. Basic economics

we have an obligated purchase option of 10 million euro in 2017. This means we have to buy him by 2017, but if we have the money we can buy him sooner. so If there is a club in the summer who wants to buy him we buy him first and directly sell him to the interested club.
This way we make a profit of around 7 million euro on a player who is almost 32. Seems like a good deal to me

yes, I absolutly agree with you…no one will give us 30m for him, but when i see how much money epl clubs spend on rubish players, then I have right to dream about 30m…this amount is his real value in our team, but real value on market will be around 20, only because of his age….so if we can get 20mil for him, we need to think twice, cheeper is not option ofcourse…

in fact when he came I though that given his age he would be the next Vidic and considering Atle has been performing well in recent years and he was leaving that team… but after seeing his performances he has become a true leader and our team needs him along with Murillo, hope he could stay more years with us!
