At the end of the disappointing game at the Marassi, Mauro Icardi was the only Inter player to talk. He also stopped to talk with Inter Channel.
“I think that the third spot is almost gone, it will be difficult to catch Roma. Mathematically though we still have a chance, so we will fight. If not we will have to do well to keep fourth place. Thankfully Fiorentina lost and are behind us, now we need to focus on fourth place to avoid the preliminaries and to work hard in summer for a better season than this one. Tonight played a great game, beyond the result. But there are days when the ball won’t go in and it has happened in many games. You create chances but do not score and then they score on you. In the second half we entered the pitch like in the first, even though we knew about the result in Rome. We wanted to play well like in the first half, we did the same in the second but we conceded that chance. The save on the goal line was Munoz’s, he did well to arrive there with the keeper beaten. I am mad about the header gone over, I could have done better but I arrived running and it was not easy. But I am a striker and I need to score.”
Accord then says the team is young and they can develop, that they missed meanness in front of goal. Something they should work on for next season. Lastly he says there is another game in three days, they should be positive, because you never know.
