Despite a slot in the Barcelona team opening up with Dani Alves’ imminent switch to Juventus, Martin Montoya still sees no future for himself at the Nou Camp Goal.com report. The full back spent the first half of last season on loan at Inter but after an unsuccessful spell joined Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season. Alves has been a mainstay at right back for Barca since his arrival 8 years ago and will leave a big gap in the defence.
Real Betis were keen to permanently sign Montoya, 25, but his high salary demands are not achievable for the club, Sporting director, Miguel Torrecillo admitted: “We are not prepared to match Montoya’s wages at Barcelona, which means an agreement is far off right now.”
