Fu Yixiang, Vice President of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, appeared on TMW Radio show ‘InterLine‘, managed by FcInterNews.it and discussed the arrival of Suning at Inter: “I want first to ensure Inter supporters: Suning is a great brand in China, like Mediaword in Italy. Zhang Jindong want to invest in italian football and he has no limits, but he has to do it in a clever way. Suning Holdings Group want to invest several years in Inter to have important successes, and will continue to invest even if results will not arrive suddenly. He can’t bring 2 billion in Inter but surely important investments.
Zhang wants to bring Inter on top and expects to have a return from Suning brand in Italy, he does not intend to upset everything, he wants to study the situation and the first thing it will try to restore peace and reliability to this team by canceling debts and remaking the Inter attractive in the eyes of sponsors.”

Let’s build a stadium then
We don’t need 2 billion right away. Personally, I’d love to see Inter return to the team building approach we had during Mancio’s first tenure as manager, where it was a legitimate team, not just players to fill a role. It was obviously successful, but there needs to be major improvements in the restructuring of the team, that is where Inter failed.
Inter has failed because they sell a roster player to fill it with another older player, meanwhile the Primavera constantly wins…
Inter failed because we still had Branca who had no clue when to offload older players like Maicon, Lucio, Julio Cesar, Sneijder, etc while they were still worth a decent transfer fee, thus creating the debt that we still haven’t fully recovered from. Also, you don’t become a top team just because you promoted some youth players. How many 18 and 19 year old players do you see making major contributions on top teams? Maybe a handful at the most.
Inter’s debt started way before Branca ever took over. I agree though, Branca was a massive idiot.
Yes, but if we had a competent Sporting Director those debts could’ve been minimized or alleviated with the right sales. He also misspent a lot of money on players that never panned out.
