We know that spending 20m for a soon to be 30 years old winger isnt a very good deal. No we can’t get Berardi because he is Juve-bound and Sassuolo won’t risk their good relations because of Inter, and Gabriel Jesus is a 19 year old boy who certainly wouldn’t be able to take Inter’s game plan to another level any time soon.. Not to mention that Inter can’t afford to give 25 mil right away..
The thing that people on this site don’t understand is that big clubs don’t buy players because of their re-sale value but for their ability to take them to another level. If you are buying 29 year old of course you can’t look at the re-sale value, you look if he can help you right away and Candreva would certainly be able to give another dimension to Inter’s game.
He is a great player, knows the league very well and wouldn’t need period of adaptation, he would be an upgrade, no doubt about it.

True but it doesn’t have to be that way. Even in Lazio Hernanes was branded as inconsistent and he was their best and favorite player. I haven’t heard any complaints about Candreva and he would be even better playing for Inter than in Lazio.

I wasn’t fan of Hernanes even when he was at his prime and especially not when he got old and couldn’t get fit. Candreva isn’t injury prone and doesn’t miss many matches. Even the last season which people are saying was bad for him, he managed to score 10 goals and 4 assists. I don’t care how many of that are from PK, it is still a goal.
And when ever I watched him against Inter and for Italy, I was really impressed with his decision making and calmness on the ball.

Although I don’t rate Eder highly, it wasn’t entirely his fault, Mancini didn’t have any attacking game plan and it is no wonder that Eder looked so bad, it is no wonder that our whole attack looked bad this season.
Candreva is a type of player that can create chances for himself and others and that is what Mancini is looking for. Mancini doesn’t see attack as a product of system, he thinks that attacking players have to be self-efficient, creating chances for themselves with very little help from fullbacks and midfielders. Of course that is a stupid plan, but since it is likely that Mancini is staying, that won’t change and players like Candreva will most probably fit that system.
I don’t even need to say that I think Candreva is much better player than Eder. And like I said, I blame Mancini for Eder’s failure, I still think that Eder can be a useful player in a good system.

Conte gave him a different role, Pele is their goalscorer and Eder is responsible for dirty work. Like I said, I don’t rate him highly, that first part of the season when he scored 12 goals in a few months was above his level, but he could still be useful player, just not as a first attacking option for Inter, Icardi is way better than him.

yes! finally someone who understands:) the investment (candreva) will cost 20-23mln. although the resale value is close to nothing, adding a player like candreva should get the team to the league place we want (1st-3rd). The CL money will pay for him.

If Candreva helps us to get CL next season it is a smart deal, no question about it. If you are buying Candreva you are counting that he will pay off that money through results, not re-sale. There isn’t guarantee that we will get CL next season with him because of Mancini and the competition is getting stronger, but I think it is the best deal that Inter can do in this situation.
Once again, I think that Berardi and Lamela are not a real options, they are too expensive and their clubs don’t need to sell them.

I guess we are following different Inter’s because Inter I follow is in trouble with FFP and needs to sell players before buying new ones. It doesn’t matter we have new owners, Inter still needs to respect FFP parameters. We don’t have 35 mil for one player. And like I said, it doesn’t matter how much Inter can pay if player doesn’t force a move, that is the only scenario in which I can see him joining Inter. And that’s not happening and it is unlikely it will happen.
We are offering 18m for candreva yesterday, so I think we had that money this season, and the rest 17 can be paid for 2 years with the scheme we always did. I remember we had receiveable of 11m for Ricky Alvares and some money for mazzari coz had new contract to epl club, so i think it visible

Who else can we get for this price range? Berardi will be way more expensive IF even possible, for Gabriel Jesus we have to outbid Real M. and he’s too young and unproven to depend upon. Nani is just… no, plus he’s same age. Only Lamela seems a decent alternative, but like Guaro he has one amazing game followed by 3 terrible. And he’s even more injury prone than Jovetic. Candreva won’t need any time to settle, he’s a hard worker and can always get his team out of trouble, his crosses are always high class, with him on the right and Perisic on the left constantly feeding Icardi with great passes he’ll have an amazing attack. And we don’t need to look for resell value right now like the fellow above mentioned. We need his class to improve the team. For me 20 mil isn’t too high considering we got Banega and Erkin for free.
For 20 mil we can get younger option like vazquez, papu gomez, lanzini, bolasie, choupo moting, kostic, bellarabi, etc etc there are many of them
