Ever Banega will start tonights important game between Argentina and Colombia and will play in front of Mascherano and Biglia. Banega as a starter in Sunday’s clash against AC Milan is however anything but certain. Tuttosport explains why: “When he has played well Inter has benefitted enormously. The problem is that besides those performances he hasn’t convinced. De Boer tried him in three different positions: playmaker, left midfielder and even in front of the defense. Only one shot at playing the Argentinian as a regista, against Palermo (1-1) in a poorly performed match.”
So, for new coach Stefano Pioli Ever Banega is a tough puzzle to solve. “Pioli hasn’t decided yet what kind of formation he will use against Milan, but it should be either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 where Banega faces competition from Marcelo Brozovic who has stepped up the last couple of weeks after being in the freezer due to disciplinary reasons. Joao Mario and Gary Medel will start which means that Banega and Brozovic will fight for the last position. In the event of a 4-3-3 formation there is a slight advantage for the Croation, if Pioli instead decides upon a 4-2-3-1 it depends on how the Inter coach will approach the Milan midfield. And in January we might see the arrival of Biglia, what is the destiny of Banega?”
